Ugly (DayZ) 79 Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) Edit: Changes my post as some people are already confused about my situation. Loaded up my game after a month or so, had a new character. No problem.Played for about a half an hour, had to log off. Logged back on, new character.Played with new character for a while. Had to log off.Came back, new character.Start testing: Every restart is a new character. So... I give myself 5 minutes between server changes, every server I join makes me a fresh spawn. On the "public" hive, characters are not saved to a server, are they? Edited December 3, 2014 by Ugly
Whyherro123 2283 Posted December 3, 2014 Nope, but they are saved to specific "hives" I think. Or, you are joining a server that has a shitty connection to the main hive, and are getting wiped because of it. On a slightly related note, why are you changing servers so quickly?........... Not server hopping for loot, if thats what you're implying. Do be honest I am bug testing this, which is why I'm restarting all the time. comikz 218 Posted December 3, 2014 I've had this issue before, been nearly fully geared up, the server resets, I go to join the same server, and boom, I'm a freshy... I then leave the server immediately after noticing that I am a freshy and log back onto it again, after the minute wait I usually have my gear back, but sometimes I am unlucky and I have to gear back up... Best wait for the server clock to tick up one minute to make sure it has fully restarted. (I.e. from 09:00 to 09:01 server time)
Ugly (DayZ) 79 Posted December 3, 2014 It happens from time to time, but this is happening 100% of the time to me since I updated.
gibonez 3633 Posted December 4, 2014 This would certainly be one good way to stop server hoppers.Maybe it's a new feature
Karmaterror 982 Posted December 4, 2014 I dosent wipe your toon.... unless.... you play for a while and the hive receives an update with that new spawn data. Log out immidiatly so it cant send any info....log back in (same server) all will be fine. That's never failed for me, and what Judopunch said, Its to do with the server start up procedure :)
