No Active Servers/Players?

I'm really new to this game/games like this in general, so forgive me if the answer to this is easier than I could tell. When I attempt to join a server there are no servers with any players on them and they aren't any of the servers that are usually there (granted, I just started yesterday so this doesn't mean much). It won't let me join any of these empty servers and when I refresh to try to find any new ones sometimes they will just disappear or shrink in numbers.

Is this normal/happening on a large scale? Can I fix this? I've tried the easy fixes like restarted the game and my laptop but it still won't work.

Its wednesday and all servers are turned off for a few hours for maintenance purposes, happens every week between about 7 and 10 GMT, can sometimes take longer if there is an updatr

I am updated to the newest stable version and went on to play today after having not played in about a month b/c I'm currently in university. When I went to find a server, the only server options showing up were experimental/unstable servers. Anyone having a similar problem or can elaborate on it?

I started to laugh at the third post. Zanbato answered the question already and yet the same question pops up again and again. Sorry for the rage, internet is down, so I have nothing to do at work. :)
