steamless playing still possible?

hi,

 

i am confused if it is possible to play without steam or not?

 

i searched a bit but did not find a good actual how to play without steam.

 

 

so can someone confirm it is possible and maybe provide a link where i can see how it is done.

 

 

i have steam but i know some who have not but are willing to play the mod again if possible.

 

 

any help is appreciated.

You can not play without the Steam-Version, as GameSpy shut down. However - if you have a retail-version of ARMA 2 / ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead with the original CD-Key you can activate it on Steam without any extra costs, though.

i doubt that i get them to install steam.

but i will try to convince them, bribe them, trick them, force them...whatever works ; )
