Best routes

I have been having to spend a lot of time like 5-6 hours just trying to find a gun and ammo. I don't really head right to mill bases unless I'm with a friend that is at bolota or something. I want to know your supply runs or gear runs as a fresh spawn either with a group or not or if they vary between the two. Anyone got a good route to take. I usually goto Cherno or electro first and then head up to the northwestern area. Where do you guys go? Tell me your routes or gear runs gor guns please help me. What is the best way to go?

Go to Elektro on a high pop.  Wait for a hacker to kill a duper.  Take gear in the mass confusion and run and log out.  I assume Cherno and Berizino are similar.

What I do, is I head up towards berinzino/lumbermill area, and I loot the town, I usually leave with a melee weapon, food, a backpack, and a few useful supplies and clothing items. Then I head north to the crashed ship, I loot that and ALWAYS find a gun, more food, med supplies, more clothes. after that, after looting the ship when im done looting berinzino/the lumber mill, I head directly west, once im in land about 5 miles, I find a town, loot it, then find out where I am, from there I head to the NW Airfield, it ALWAYS has good loot, im a veteran (dayz mod to standalone) and im always well set in 10 minutes, fully geared in 2 hours. Ammo you will find along the way to the airfield, guaranteed.

Gear is everywhere in this game, provided you know where to look for it. An experienced player who knows his loot spawns can give you valuable insight. Information like knowing where things spawn is incredibly powerful.

i started a new spawn on this private server last night after getting killed by bandits. I spawned just west of Cherno. As you can imagine, it's a private server so most of the spots west/in Cherno have been picked clean. I was hungry and thirsty and was probably an inch away from dying. But I hit up a few houses along the way (running across Cherno on a 20/40 server without getting shot) and eventually made it past Balota to Kamenka, and by then I had a shotgun and a sledge hammer and a lot of food. Even met another player who didn't shoot me and ran with him to the base near Pavlovo. I think the key is to just recognize which houses may or may not have stuff. Like the smaller log cabins don't even bother. Two-story houses are more promising.

I stay between Severo and Krasno, find mosins in piano homes, handguns in wood cabins, ammo in larger homes and police stations. I really have not had a problem with that yet, but I do think the variety of weaponry is limited by being a 'one town guy'.

 

Severo seems to have a ton of Zombies, like triple and quadruple teaming families coming after ya LOL

Small log cabins now have a good chance of spawning rifles. Don't forget to check those if you haven't found a weapon yet.

I wouldn't bother with military bases anymore - at least, not for weapons.

 

I find the odd SKS there, but who wants that anyway? Milbases are currently only good for clothing, backpacks, and assorted supplies like canteens, compasses, and ammunition. Actual military weapons seem to only spawn at helicopter crashes in .50, so I recommend either running across the entire Western edge of the map over and over again, or searching through the high-value civilian buildings in any given town.

 

At the moment, you're best finding guns in someone's house or on someone's corpse.

Don't listen to this. Military bases do spawn AKs still. But hitting them exclusively can be frustrating. Hit mil bases AND western towns AND look for heli crashes. You'll get lucky and hit an OP barracks and will have your choice of AKs and mags.

Find a friendly geared player and tell him about some snipers taking shots on you from the way you came from. Then ask him if he knows the way to a town behind him. (They always turn around). Knock him out and steal his shit. Run!

I do have a group that I play with there is 5 of us. I will play with them mostly but if you can teach me some good bandit stradages, I will take your offer! I need to master some routes and stradages. So that instead of others that you here taking 6 guys down all armed alone, they can say that about me. I love dayz I need some friends

I've learned that the hard way, all my friends did. We let 2 guys in are group he had a sks and we were at balota and he killed 2 of us then we sniped him and held his friend up and killed him.
