How's this game on a large hdtv?

I play on a 55 inch 1080p display that I sit about 10ft away from. I've been having problems with the UI in some games where there is a lot of text (IE: Civ 5, CK2). Basically it's just impossible to read because the text is too small. I have to lower the resolution down to 720 to get even close to readable and even then it's not very good. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with larger displays and the UI in dayz.

 

Is there an option to resize the UI?

Does the text get hard to read at higher resolutions?

 

Just wanted to know before I spend my money.

I'm using a LG 50" 1080p plasma, sitting about 1150mm (or just under 4 feet for the metric system impaired) from the screen, will never again game like a peasant on anything smaller. Just sit closer and bask in the glory of large screen gaming.

 

I don't have any problems with font sizes or UI problems, try playing with font sizes in the windows personalization settings.

I'm about 10 ft away from mine. Does changing the windows ui effect the DayZ ui? Usually it doesn't change in game font size.

configure

video

User Interface

change Size to whatever you want

exit and confirm everything

I tried once on a 50" HDTV and in my opinion it looks awful whether I sat near the display or further away. Not the menus, they are perfectly readable and no more used once all settings are okay, but the pixel count and picture processing on smaller displays makes games look better in my opinion. There target environment is different. I would recommend you, to buy one or three good computer display(s) from 23" to 27", max 30", with Full-HD or 4k resolution. My 50" TV isn't bad, but the picture doesn't look very good without all the picture processing which I had to deactivate to minimize input lag. But that is just my experience.

I hire out the local cinema and hook up my rig to it. If it's less than 500 inches, don't bother playing bro.

Buy a beanbag chair.....sit 1-2feet from yourTV....instant win:)

 

Then just stash the beanbag  away when not playing.

 

Well that was my solution, but due to same small txt issue(especially on steam messages) I swapped my tvs over and now game on a 720p because its easier on the eyes :)

Just wanted to know before I spend my money.

Be warned its an alpha and far from finished - there are lots of bugs, features are missing or prototypes etc.
