komatose 5 Posted November 7, 2014 past 2 days i have restored a complete map 2 times and anytime i use the map hot key or inspect it inspecting it just displays the hardcover of the map and the hot key is just a black screen does the map function not work? 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

jiggyjoe 43 Posted November 7, 2014 Tabbing ? You just have to use the steam browser in-game, and in-fact, ain't really cheating since maps are also in-game... It just makes you not have to have all 5 map parts...Im' sure that if one day devs comes with the possibility of assembling the whole map by collecting em' and introducing a way to be able to look at the map as you run (A little bit like far cry does) people will stop having to go on a website (Ever thought too of using your mobile phone) ? :P Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Sula 1205 Posted November 7, 2014 Many people use maps. It isn't cheating to use one, in my view. Just play the game and have fun, that's what games are for. Ask if you have any other questions. Also this little app gives you the opportunity to share your locations with your clan/group. Want to follow the helicrash sites tour?...no problem!....this little fella has it!..... Check it out. Once you complete a map, it will automatically be moved to your hotbar if there is room. But it has to be on your hotbar to use, and when you want to look at the map press the corresponding hotkey. Also, if you do use the in game map, just know that once you press the hotkey the map will instantly pop up on your screen (fills the screen), but when you get out of the map, there is a short loadscreen before you get back to the game. It's minimal, maybe a couple seconds, if even. But that is enough time to F*** some S*** up. A few times I heard approaching footsteps. komatose 5 Posted November 8, 2014 my problem is the ingame map idk if im not doing something right and not using it correctly i combined a pristine north and south to make a complete map yet when i hit the map hot key its nothing but a black screen with 2 tabs mapplayers surrounded by a blackscreen if i hit map i get no change if i hit players it just lists players on the server with various info in a blackscreen does it have to load or something i just wanted to know if i need to be more patient yea killerbyte and pizuicas was helpful ty vm both of you :) ill be more than happy to use the in game map if i can get it to function this is my main issue otherwise i just feel like im just aimlessly wandering around running from house to house hoping to find that next piece of loot ty both in advance i didn't mean to start a argument Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

muddyraccoon 176 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) Yeah, the Map / Players tab comes up, but the black should be map. There I go again, thinking someone makes the same mistakes I did. And we all know what they say about assuming, it makes an ass outta u and ming... It looks like it could be bug. Maybe check the bug reports to see if this is a problem. Or, HEAVEN FORBID, MAY GOD FORGIVE THESE NEXT WORDS download the iZurvive map. Or open up DayzDB. If you join a clan, iZurvive can be a little gps unit for your whole clan, showing their locations. I've only heard that from people on here, so don't quote me. But I assure you, using a non in-game map is not cheating. EDIT: I hope you aren't typing a response to my response now!
