Persistence question.

Recommended Posts

If I leave gear, like weapons, ammo, vests in a persistent server, will I be able to return to it after the server restarts?

Wouldn't recommend it right now.

New patch out soon, though, so maybe then.

I have a question regarding persistence enabled servers too (mainly experimental). I've found a few garages that have been full to the brim with loot, is this because no one has looted and the server continually spawns items? Or is it just a glitch that causes masses of items to be spawned at once?

I guess I'll have to wait then.

Thanks for the quick reply btw

Like Pillock said, its still a bit of an iffy thing. I've had a couple of backpacks filled with supplies lying out int he woods on the experimental server for a couple days, but that's not really enough to test anything out. I've heard reports of different items disappearing at different intervals. Especially loose items just lying where you dropped them, like guns. But really, its just something that has to be tested, I'm pretty sure the newest version of .50 is good at persistence,

In short, Maybe, we need to test it more!

(I'm pretty sure leaving it in a backpack will work, on experimental at least)

I'm pretty sure loot only spawns when other loot is taken on experimental, so it should be a glitch, for whatever reason loot likes to try and pile up in one place.

No, loot does not 'pile up' naturally.  If something hasn't been looted and dropped, it disappears on restart.  What you saw was probably a very active scavenger making a base, or a duper dumping items in a building.

This has been going on for a while and I think it's more likely to be a loot spawn issue. Plenty of pics and threads on it. Same thing yesterday in experimental; every single room/building at the Kamensk military base was packed with loot.

Weapons and ammo (if it is in a backpack) and other stuff is semi-peristent, except for vests and clothes.

Even with the new patch, make sure that there is nothing in any vests or clothing when you store it as this is mostly the reason that vests and clothing get deleted in my groups experience. The other is that it shuffles the loot around on restart and if it cant find enough space for an item it deletes it, long or bulky items are particularly problematic.

Persistence is still a work in process with its flaws, if I were you id wait till the next patch, then see what type of issues people are having, then decide weather or not you would like to start "dropping things'
