Bororm 1156 Posted October 27, 2014 I haven't played the SA in a bit, but when I last did, AKM/ak101 mags were very common. I think regardless of their commonality, what I'd like to discuss still applies though. I think there should be an animation/short timer for loading mags (able to cancel of course. ideally cancelling early results in a partially filled mag). As it stands, you basically just need 2, one in your gun and one in your pack, because throwing ammo into your empty is just a matter of seconds. There's the smallest benefit of having more obviously, but that's inventory space that can often be used better. This would create a small amount of effort on the player's part to better manage their ammo. I don't know what a reasonable loading time would be, but it would at least put more of a connection between the player the and the act than it currently stands. You might be slightly more hesitant to spray away if you know you're going to have to fuck with ammo in the middle of a fight. I also feel that larger capacity mags, like drum mags should take longer. I suppose the timer could simply be based on the amount of rounds loaded, so if you don't have enough to fill an entire mag it wouldn't take as long. This would also make carrying more mags more attractive, while creating decisions on inventory management. It would potentially create scenarios where you actually have to prepare for a fight as well, as you sort out your gear. I'm hoping this isn't moved straight to the suggestion forum, as I'm more interested in a discussion on it rather than it being a straight suggestion. If people think it's necessary or not etc.
Rags! 1966 Posted October 27, 2014 High capacity drum magazines with 60-75 rounds of ammunition them shouldn't even be in the game.

Bororm 1156 Posted October 27, 2014 I could do without them personally, but I don't think they're going any where. Still if it took you like a full minute to load one (just spitballing, don't get hung up on numbers) people would at least hopefully be less inclined to spray as much as they do with them, or at least do so with some sort of drawback.
