DCing to avoid death should not be fixed untill zeds are fixed

right now, i usually always DC and relog if i pull zombies, it should be fine to do so as long as the zombies are stupidly fast and walk through walls and floors

Or you could try to learn how to deal with the zombies while they have these magic powers.

I don't know about zombie's ever being slowed down, but it doesn't matter anyway, they can't hit you while you're running. Not to mention how easy it is to juke them behind solid walls and buildings.

As for getting attacked through walls, with enough experience you'll learn the general areas where they do this and just avoid those so you don't get attacked through walls.

Using an exploit because your personal opinion is that zombies are too strong doesn't make it okay. Just learn how to deal with them.

The devs can't fix the zeds because zeds are actually just civilians and the arma 2 engine controls said civilians and they never gave civilians the correct pathing. Don't blame the day z developers, blame the bohemia interactive.

You're supposed to play the game and give feedback, not game the system by cheating. Suck it up, grow a pair and die like a man when you screw up your looting operation. You aggro'ed them in the first place so learn to deal with them and the consequences of not being sneaky enough or not smart enough to use a flare as a distraction. Or what about the good old tactical retreat, and by that I mean RUN!!!! Nothing wrong with running up a steep hill and using the terrain to your advantage. You can then use your elevated position to have another look back into the town you just booked from and plan a better approach.

Walking through walls and doors will eventually get patched out, it's an Alpha, expect it to be glitchy, but it's doubtful the zombies are going to get any slower than they are. The animations might slow down as right now it looks like they are in a fit during their attacking animations, but their overall speed isn't going to drop.

Sneak more, cheat less and die like a man instead of cowering behind the Alt F4 option.

Wow I must say that the DayZ community is keeping it classy. Talking in such a mature and respectful manner. I mean, who the hell doesn't like being hit through walls, and zombies walking through doors. In fact. I think since Rocket is the second coming of Jesus. He should make us all die as soon as we join a server. That will make it even more hardcore, and as we all know, the harder you make a game, the more fun it is, amirite? I mean the nuke that hackers have now should stay and we should have to gamble when hackers will use it so we log off. Oh wait, my bad that is an exploit. Silly me. If someone warns us about a nuke we should stand and take it and die. We can get our gear back easily. I mean like someone above said. The normal Arma 2 code is broken so I guess we will play it with zombies that go through walls. Oh wait. The game is supposed to be realistic and simulate a real life zombie Apocalypse. Silly me. I feel bad for those who don't enjoy the game as much as we do. I believe everyone should have to suck Rocket's dick at some point :)

I agree TC. Until the zeds don't have super senses or limitations, I'll just DC to avoid them after they've been agro'd by the broke system.

I mean seriously, zombies can:

- Hear better than people

- See further than people

- Can see you when you're completely behind them

- Walk through walls and doors

- Hit through walls and doors

- Walk through barbed wire

- Hit harder than a pro boxer

- Run faster than an Olympic sprinter

- Cut corners better than a NFL wide receiver

- Hit through staircases

- See or hear you when you're on the 3rd floor of an apartment building

- Walk in the floor at supermarkets

- Walk right through the counter at supermarkets

I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but you get the idea. They are broken!

Don't tell me to "deal" with them or "man up" when they don't have the same limitations as the survivor. What's the point of me closing a door or putting up some wire to stop a zombie to watch it stroll right through it like it's not even there???

I'm not trying to bitch. These are all things that have happened to me or I have witnessed first hand.

I agree TC. Until the zeds don't have super senses or limitations, I'll just DC to avoid them after they've been agro'd by the broke system.

I mean seriously, zombies can:

- Hear better than people - Patched in 1.7.2

- See further than people - Wrong, you can sprint up to 40 yards away from them, then they aggro, lean to crawl asshole

- Can see you when you're completely behind them - That's sound dumbass

- Walk through walls and doors - They now revert back to where they where when they go through walls.

- Hit through walls and doors

- Walk through barbed wire - It's been clearly stated barbed wire will never stop zombies...

- Hit harder than a pro boxer - Duh.. do i really need to explain this one?

- Run faster than an Olympic sprinter - Yet you can still outrun them :O

- Cut corners better than a NFL wide receiver - Yet STOP RIGHT AFTER THEY TURN CONVENIENTLY LETTING YOU RUN AWAY

- Hit through staircases - If you walked UP that staircase, you would be able to kill them as they freaking slow crawled towords you like a funnel of death.

- See or hear you when you're on the 3rd floor of an apartment building-they can hear you dumbass, pay attention to the little ear to your right of your screen, 2 lines means they can hear you from 20 feet away, or up, or down, or fucking crossways.

They have to open the doors now, barbed wire is meant for players only, stfu and get better at aiming, i have yet to die by a zombie, and i've only been playing for 2 weeks!

DCing is for cowards... I'm sorry.

People can rationalize all they want for why they do it but when it cones down to it-- You should never DC to save your ass. Man/Woman up and either find away to escape the Zeds or Players.... Or just face your death with honor.

This is an alpha-- you should be experimenting and not get to attached to your character or their gear. I suspect sooner or later they will have everyone start over-- where you will Lose your old characters. This will most likely happen when loot/weapon/ ammo spawns are greatly changed and also the building settlement mechanics come in.

Why this will happen?

It's the only way to test the social society building- you need to remove all the stock piled weapons and gear to see if loot and spawn rates work to create the environment they wish to persue -- so people please don't get to invested in your gear and please stop DCing.

Only the Weak DC in the face of danger.

The only reason you can outrun them is because their attack animation stops their movement. They would beat you easily in a footrace. Have you not noticed?

This is a VERY LAME excuse to exploit the disconnection aspect.

I have been killed MANY times from just being stupid, getting stuck in a building with one way out, a horde of zombies, and not enough ammo to blast through them all. Sure I could have disconnected, logged out and logged back in and walked out. But that would be cheating. Instead I manned up, held them off until my last bullet and then made a run for it towards the exit... I didn't make it. Things like this make the game interesting.

The other day I was playing chillin at zub castle and had a zombie break my leg. Instead of disconnecting, suicide, or finding some other cheat. I CRAWLED all the way back to cherno in the evening when it was getting dark, made it to the hospital and found some morphine. This was done on a popular server full of people (mid 30's to low 40's) I didn't even think to find a server with low population to make it easier.. Instead I played the game properly, I waited until dusk when it got harder to see and made my way avoiding zombies and players alike.

The whole "zombies are running too fast" whining and complaining is getting ridiculous. The infected in this game are amazing slow walking zombies would just suck. This isnt Romeros style of zombies. These fuckers are more like 28 days/weeks later, return of the living dead, and the dawn of the dead remake. A zombie has one thing on it's mind and that is to eat you. There is no reason a zombie should be slow moving, they should be pushing their body to the limit as they feel no pain and have the ultimate drive to keep going.

The only reason I think the zombies should be slowed down is if they have been injured. have a zombie with only one leg crawl, but have him crawl with some intense anger that causes you to pause for a second and think "oh fuck, he just wont stop!" and not "heh, he's stuck crawling, I can save my bullets and ignore that one"

At this moment WITH the glitched zombies, I think the game is still too easy.

The only thing we have to really fear right now are the bandits, zombies just merely get in our way as a distraction.

Another thought, With the glitch of zombies attacking you through walls. I LOVE That I think it should be made a feature and have a special animation or something that goes along with it. I view it as all those classic monster movies where the actor runs into a house, secures the front door then back up and just leans against the wall and watch the front door then next thing you now a fist punches through the wall and a hand starts grabbing at the person. That's what I see when a zombie attacks me from outside... I simply step away from the wall. It's an added danger that is great.

That's my favorite one by far. It's ridiculous that you have to baby step when you're on the third floor in a building to avoid zed aggro OUTSIDE.

That said, I think d/c abuse is as big of an issue, if not bigger. I don't care which one they fix first, they both need to be fixed ASAP.

You can't test new mechanics when the CORE of the game doesn't even work. As rocket learned, "fixing" them later has a domino effect on other parts of the game. (Even though he didn't fix anything, just changed zombie AI to something completely different but still broken)
