ryanh 36 Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) Hello everyone. So recently I found 2 tents went to a persistance enabled server Checked it work (droped gun bags on floor restarted happned) all gear was still there. I set up a tent filled it 100% full, took attachments off my weapons and logged off. Next day tent is still there, but i can't see the gear, i can't swap my primary into the tent to pull out my other gun. Any ideas what im doing wrong? EDIT: Also How long does a Tent and the gear inside Last on a server if untouched? Edited October 6, 2014 by RyanH
boneboys 7988 Posted October 5, 2014 Apart from the fact that tents are not really working you should always leave a couple of empty slots, the gear gets reshuffled and in my experience leaving the top left slot free may be a solution. For crafted backpacks leave the bottom right slot free. This is my story, if other Forum members have something to add I believe we would all be interested. Thanks.
MaxTheSurvivor 152 Posted October 5, 2014 Some say that your items are still in the tent but are invisible. Try drop an item from your inventory into your tent and you should see the items in the tent reappear. At least it's what those who own a tent have discovered.

But good feedback thanks guys
ryanh 36 Posted October 5, 2014 So i confirmed my tent is full i cant place anything inside it but it is all invisable. is there anyhting i can do about this?
Sammi79 4 Posted October 5, 2014 Yes, there is. To work around the item visibility bug with absolutely full tents, first look at the apparently empty tent inventory. Above the inventory spaces is the icon of the tent (which you can hover over to see its 'pristine' condition). Left click and hold this icon then drag it to the left outside the overall inventory box and let go. The tent will jump positions but everything inside will now be visible. ryanh 36 Posted October 5, 2014 Quick question Will the position change be permenent? or will it eventully go back to where it was placed? reason i ask is because it's suck in a rock, if it were to flip sideways i would no longer be able to get in. And i learned that logging out in a tent also moves the tent

And i learned that logging out in a tent also moves the tent I've never had the tent move for logging inside it, I have noticed you will spawn outside it though. The position change is not permanent, you can do the same thing again and it will jump positions again, or you can empty the tent, pack it down and reposition it. For reference the tent will jump roughly a couple meters to the left when you do as I have explained above.
Sammi79 4 Posted October 5, 2014 Seeing alot of both these lately. There is a workaround, I have explained it twice in different threads now.
kimmaz 63 Posted October 5, 2014 Requirement #1 - Find a tent.Status: Impossible... Until you can craft a tent I will never get to hide my gear and then loose it cause of glitches and random thief.. hehe ^^
Sammi79 4 Posted October 5, 2014 Requirement #1 - Find a tent.Status: Impossible... Until you can craft a tent I will never get to hide my gear and then loose it cause of glitches and random thief.. hehe ^^ You're doing something wrong. Go on a server with persistence disabled, then search every room on every floor + balconies in the tall apartment buildings. On average you will have to search 5-6 to have a very high chance of finding a tent.
ryanh 36 Posted October 5, 2014 Thanks sammi, I guess the reason i kept asking was because My tent which is in a rock with a crack if it turns you can no longer get back inside it :PBut I'm going to try it anyway because if i dont it's lost anyway haha Thanks for the information it's been golden will post after i try it
surf_polar 110 Posted October 5, 2014 I have a different problem, the server I placed my tent on (DE official one) is never online and when it is no one can join :(

Odd because my experience has been if the bag is completely full, the game doesn't shuffle the items when you reload. I have lost several shotguns because I had some room open and the game some how couldn't fit everything back in place.

I think they are talking about leaving a spot open so you can drop an item in to fix the invisibility bug.

My friends and I always leave at least the last lower right slot empty as draging in an item refreshes the inventory. Also long or awkward sized items can be deleted if the server 'organizes' the loot tetris but cant find a place to put it. I would recommend trying to find an empty slot in your tent with a small item or if you can have a friend see something and drag it out.
