How can I get out of this glitch?

I will also report another glitch, I hit someone with a machete (bandit) when he wasn't facing me and didn't notice me and the second I did the game said I was dead. Why would that happen? I didn't get it on video.

 

No longer stuck, first I re-joined the same server twice. I stopped playing then joined a different server and I wasn't stuck anymore. I don't know how to delete this topic unless this is a glitch that should be fixed. It was a building in elektro.

Did you join through your steam overlay? There is a bug with that.

 

The you are dead thing was probably lag, you didnt see him turn around and shoot you but he did.

Well since there was no reply… 

 

The bug I know of is if you join through the steam overlay (Shift+tab) you can loose control of your game.

 

Solutions include, hitting shift+tab again. Or joining through the server browser instead (sort by friends in the server browser).
