Dayz Performance

Recommended Posts

I recently bought myself a easily transportable laptop so i can game while stationed.

Now a friend introduced me to Dayz SA  wich i played briefly when the mod released.

Seems my performance in game is abysmal

My current specs are

I7-4702MQ 2.2GHz,  Turbo 3.2 GHz

GTX 850m

12gb DDR3l Memory

1000 Gig HDD

Now i do realise this laptop has an integrated intel hd 4600, so it could be possible that dayz is using that card instead of my dedicated Graphics card

Well to sum things up my performance is abysmal with lag spikes even on the lowest settings / resolution

I can run arma 3 at around 50-60 fps anywhere on the Altis life mod (high - ultra mix)

BF4 (high-ultra mix)

Rome 2 high-very high (for those 10k reinforcement battles ;D)

And many other recently made games incuding ESO on max settings

in the bios I think you should be able to disable the on-board video, and then everything would default to the nvidia.

Turn off PP,Lower your object detail, keep AA at a low setting and run medium textures.

You are going to have to live with this for a while

Also it exists in the driver settings to decide which game runs on which gpu

It seems like there are general performance problems in 0.49/0.50: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=17013

In case an update of your drivers does not alleviate your performance problems, then you're most likely experiencing low frame rates due to the game not being optimized yet during development.
