So yesterday I was in Zelenogorsk searching for food and clothes and suddenly I hear gunshots. I see the guy and I shout: "Please dont shoot me" and he just keeps firing at me (I have no weapons, just the fireaxe). He hits me two times with the AK101 and I run behind a corner. After that I attack him with the axe and drop him with one hit to the head.

He had everything from protector cases to morphine and like I said earlier, a freakin AK 101 with stacks of ammo. Fastest way to gear up in DayZ :3

No, the fastest way to get gear is to run up to someone with a DB shotgun, say you don't have ammo, and ask for food.

 

Then kill them.
