Are you arranging your items from top to bottom?

Its the exact same with items in your inventory, wobo has got a great video on what seems to be whats going on.

Are items in inventories stored as lists? Or matrices?  Because I've noticed that it rearranges my things from left-to-right. It's irksome.

No, that's not it. I had my backpack organized the way I usually do and poof, shit in the bag disappears after I put it it in a tent and server resets.
