I am seeing this more often after the recent patch. Hovering and/or unreachable items. Is there a trick to getting them?

Ive noticed this too. Not neccesarily floating in mid air, but sometimes items spawn on top of cabinets and stuff that are too high to reach.

I think this is one of the best parts of playing an early access alpha - there are some truly silly things that can happen that keep things interesting.

stand directly under them, or walk slowly beneath them while your have your inventory open and look at the left in "Vicinity".

 

 

 

I was able to grab a spray-can out of 3m in the air with this "trick" xDD

Items within your arms reach can be get when you face them with the white/gray dot and press "f". But you need to have enough space in your inventory in case of clothes or free hands for many other items.

That has happened since I started playing. Not exactly new. 

 

 

I did find more unreachable stuff recently though.
