those plastic guns that fire bb bullets and are wayyyy cheaper than real guns

they could be added in game and spawn rates for them should be made real high and they do like 1/32196810345514354135 damage of a real gun

lets say youre combating someone 1v1 with a melee weapon and suddenly pull out an AK47

but that AK is a fake AK,

you know show-window weapons? purely for threatening enemies?

 

If the only weapon you have is a kitchenknife and you see a guy with AK47, what would you do?

This sounds even worse than giving Press sewn-in fake pistols on a belt to make it seem like they're armed, in Iraq, where they just end up getting targeted as threats regardless.

Here i was thinking that you were advocating airsoft weapons in DayZ ala the novelty hand gun in Dead Space 2/3 that goes pewpewpew and blows things up...

and what about the people without kitchen knives?  They should target you as a threat, take your crappy weapon and tea-bag you in disgust at their wasting of ammunition on your hold-nothing ass.

I think that the idea of a fake weapon could be a good one in theory because you could threaten people, however in practise anyone without a gun being aimed at by someone with a gun tends to banzai charge them and normally kill the other player.

In theory this would work, but it'd only work on the unarmed/lightly armed, who have nothing to lose. Against anyone who's armed, they'd just shoot you. So, it's 95% useless.

OT: I think those guns would totally ruin the game. Imagine everyone running around with a gun, even if it's fake, that destroys immersion. Additionaly, what do you think how many people own a BB rifle in a post-soviet state like Chernarus? A high spawnrate wouldn't be legitimate.

 

Also, if you want a rifle which looks dangerous but does nothing: Sporter .22, there you go ;)
