Dayz Mod Not Working.

Alright so I just bought Arma II : Combined Operations I installed, ran Arma II and Arma II arrow head, then installed the mod to play it as I wasn't able to join a sever and if I did it made me wait and never joined. if you guys can give me some help for the mods and stuff I need to install it would be helpful, or you can link me to a previous post of something like this has I probley assume this is asked a lot. Thanks for any help.

You are on the right way, but in the wrong forum. You are here in the SA part. Look for DayZ commander and try to play over that.

 

You still need Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA for this.

Ive tried to download Dayz commander, it keeps coming up with "The publisher of this program couldn't be verified". Ive looked for some solutions to install it before it posted with no results so I came here looking for some help or other methods.

Did u hit the download button that says: dayzcommander in the title? not the download generic button, if I recall its on the lower left hand part of the page

yea, I went here http://www.dayzcommander.com/ scrolled down and clicked Install Dayz Commander! , then it comes up and says couldn't verify.

All you need to do then is follow these steps to be able to play DayZ Mod:

 

1. Install ARMA 2 on Steam
2. Run ARMA 2
3. Install ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead on Steam
4. Run ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead
5. Install DayZ Mod on Steam
6. Run DayZ Mod

 

Done.

Please include information. Just saying that you can't connect to any servers doesn't give us any information - though we would be more than happy to help you out.

 

When you launch DayZ Mod, click on Multiplayer, go to Internet, click on Filter, search for a servername (partial search is recommended - ie: Servername is "kichilron's Testserver" - search for "kich")

Well this pops up whenever I try to join a sever, *havnt downloaded anything extra for the mod or arma games at the moment*

You didn't follow my steps then. I described you step by step what to do and you have not done it.

 

That message just proves what you're saying as you do not have DayZ Mod installed. How do you think you are going to play something you do not have installed?

How did you launch it then? Can't really go wrong if you're launching it directly off Steam.

 

Make sure that you're joining servers that are actually running DayZ Mod in the version you have (1.8.2).

 

A normal DayZ Server is usually named something like this:

 

kichilron's DayZ Server (1.8.2/124582) - hosted by [...]

 

Note, that it says both DayZ Mod and the version (1.8.2) - only join those servers that actually have the same version as you do.

Alright now were getting somewere. im launching directly from steam. everything I see is 1.6.3, is there a way to set back the version installed?

Those are all overpoch / Epoch servers.

 

Just Filter for "DayZ" with the method I described above.
