tootights (DayZ) 26 Posted August 30, 2014 I just threw up a server, 30 slots, currently Chicago, but will move to Seattle when available.
tootights (DayZ) 26 Posted September 2, 2014 so, what do I do about hackers on my server? Its only been active a week or so, and I heard someone pulled the "respawn everyone as a bambi group" hack. What's the best practice for response to incidents?
freethink 984 Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) Cancel your server and make it clear you are cancelling because of hacking. The more people do this the sooner it'll become a priority fix. Money talks. Edited September 2, 2014 by freethink
Baker. 1484 Posted September 2, 2014 I wish i could say just password it, but that's not allowed. And even if this hack is patched, until they allow some sort of control over your player base, you are limited to battleye. And as soon as a new hole is patched up the hackers find a new one to crawl through. Shame really.
tootights (DayZ) 26 Posted September 2, 2014 I can't find any definitive info on the persistence. Is persistence turned by default on servers?
hoik 415 Posted September 2, 2014 I believe on stable 0.48, only servers with "persistence: on" in their description have persistence enabled - when stable hits 0.49 persistence will be default on all servers. All experimental servers are 0.49.
