Question on binoculars and backpacks

Recommended Posts

I've been away for a few weeks and just started playing again. I thought I read somewhere about new backpacks or new backpack colors. I picked up a SMERSH backpack which is cool. But I can't seem to access the items I've put into it. When I right click the only option I get is "inspect". Also, are there other colors of mountain backpacks out there? I thought I saw a picture of a camo one but not sure if this is real.

Lastly, I haven't been able to use binoculars at all. I just keep getting an "inspect" option. Are these already documented/known issues? Thanks in advance

You cannot access backpacks the way you would with a container. This might be an issue or it could be intentional, not sure. The SMERSH pack is meant to be worn in your backpack slot, or added to a SMERSH vest to expand its capacity. You'll either have to wear the pack as a regular backpack or drop it on the ground to access the items.

The binoculars are used just like a weapon. Add it to your hotbar (or drag it to your hands), press space to raise it, and right click to view through them.

Cheers!

The hunter's pack is 'cammo-ish', though more of an OD Green rather than a pattern, stands out less than the 'neon' green that the talon and mountain packs have.

As for binocs, try putting them into your quick-slot inventory (1-0 buttons) and you should be able to bring them out.  Sometimes having your fists out can be a roadblock to doing anything.  Then just press space to bring them up and rclick to look through them.
