balac 1 Posted August 21, 2014 I bought the game a few days ago and I am getting repeated kicked out of the games because of a high ping. I do not have cable internet providers so I have to use satellite transmission which causes lag and evidently the game is designed to dump high ping players. I am at a ping about 1000. Some times I get a message - 1530 bad ping Battleye- but most of the time the game just stops working and crashes me out. I very rarely play a single game for more that 10 mins before crashing out. I do not have much money and the game cost is a significant cost for and I am very depressed that it will not work. If there is limitations in pings like this I expect to be noticed about the problem BEFORE purchase. Greg
boneboys 7988 Posted August 21, 2014 I'm afraid with a ping of 1000 you are not going to have much luck. Even if a Server has no ping limit you will time out more often than not. 300 is about the minimum max, set your ping limit to that in the filters and see if you can capture any servers.
pilgrim* 3514 Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) ..//..I do not have cable internet providers so I have to use satellite transmission which causes lag..//.. Hi balacDoor County is a popular vacation and tourist location. I live in the same kind of area (different continent). Usually, where there are hotels and tourist accomodation, there are plenty of internet connectivity solutions, because nearly all the tourists bring a notebook or a playstation with them, and that's all they do in the evenings (except a few) So there must be some low ping (or normal ping) internet access routes around there ? Can you check those out and see what is available. Even a local wifi connection would be much better that your satellite ping. For instance, are you not in range of a hotel, motel, bar, gas station, or civic wifi connection ? Maybe it's free, or low price for locals, or you can do a deal.. ?? Also satellite is expensive and it works badly when it rains or snows. I guess where you live that is .. often ? Perhaps you are far from towns or resorts ? Is there no phone line ? I use ADSL internet connection via an old land line wire telephone connection.. the wire is about 15 km long before it reaches the first exchange group. It works ok.. it's not great, but I can watch youtube and film streaming, and play DayZ usually (except Friday and Saturday night) with plenty of servers at 40-80 ping. Maybe someone on the forums who lives in in your region can suggest better what you might do. You shouldn't say on the forums exactly where you live, but are you in a tourist location ? do you have a land line phone ? Maybe - even - you are close to somewhere you could go and hang out a few hours at the weekend, and play over a good connection ? Or install the game on a pc with a good connection at a relatives house ? [ Perhaps SteakAndPotatoes might have suggestions ; he's a wild woodsman aiming to live on a Bigfoot reservation, I think he knows a lot about being far distant from everything and staying in contact. = just an idea = ] pilgrim Edited August 21, 2014 by pilgrim

I am lucky to have that.
