Changing Server Timer - revisited

Recommended Posts

So I have to wait a minute before I can switch servers now. Even if I've been in a server for 30 minutes, if I want to change a server I have to wait a minute. This minute is useful for what exactly?

Why did they remove the 5 minute timer? A minute does absolutely nothing for anyone so it might as well be removed as it serves absolutely no function right now.

With reports of servers going down for ages, this just amplifies the need to change servers and often.

Once the servers are stable again, reintroduce the "Anti-Server hopper timer".

Maybe working persistence/respawn will adress that major flaw that hopping servers for loot is but...

EVE Online got some brilliant log out timers based on interactions you´ve had with the server, I don´t want to explain EVE here but for DayZ it could look something like:

-movement only, 5min timer

-picked up/dropped item, 10min timer

-fired your weapon, 15min timer

This wouldn´t punish people that connected to the wrong server for whatever kind of reason but make hopping for gear much more of a pain.
