Random Character Resets

After playing... BEFORE you shut Steam down Verify Integrity of Cache for DayZ

so far has worked for 3 logins...

 

After the Steam update this past week several members of our gaming community (avarage 5-10 players on a day 25 people with the game) 7 have had the characters reset. It is purley speculation that it may be the steam update and we have no other ideas as to why. Loged out in a safe area no Zombies in some of the areas loged out. This has happened at Server restart (Being loged out by a server restart)and just loging out Pre server restart. Or Just loging out and loging back in to the same server. it has happened to me 4 times in 2 days. I would have posted this to feedback.dayzgame but my account has not yet been established. (waiting on email)

Not complaining... just reporting... Glad to help in any  way I can :)  I will start a new toon and log out and In after every new piece of gear to see what happens.

first on a first person server,
2h later on a third person server with a friend, he was also reset

I logged out in western woods with full gear, but after hour or two when i logged in, my back pack,high capacity vest,pants,gloves and shoes were missing. I guess that there is problem with some servers with persistence ON,because when I'm playing on other servers I don't have such problems...My friend had same problem like you guys,but only on persistence on servers...

I've had it happen several times lately as well.  Hit escape and log out pronto.  Join another server and watch your character come back.  B)

Usualy you get a Warning as your loging in that server has lost connection to host .. but never got this.. so far it has happened 5 times in 2 days all in First Persoon Servers

That bug is still alive. Today i logged in and  i spawned completly new....

This bug is affecting so many people, I wonder why 0.48 was even pushed to stable.

Had one today. Left the server, joined another one, got my old character back.

But seriously why are there still so many servers with restart times of 4 hours or less? First kicked me out of a firefight, second kicked be out while looting a military base, third kicked me out in the middle of a city...
