Ok, so I stop aimlessly searching..What has been removed?

I spent the entire night last night searching for heli crashes (took a month off), luckily someone I ran into told me that they were taken out.

 

I spent the next 3-4 hours running across the map to the various weapons drops looking for an M4, only to find out they've been taken out too!

 

 

So, can we please have some sort of list of the items that were and are no longer in game so I can stop chasing ghosts?

If these things are removed on purpose you can read about it in the changelog (you can find one on the dayzwiki). If it doesn't say so post it at the bugtracker.

Or maybe they just became rare.

M4, flashbang, grenades only spawn at heli crash sites afaik (which are back in experimental in todays patch)

stop searching for that one special item. enjoy the surprise, make the best out of it. if you dont know what was removed, you also dont know about the many things that were added, dont ruin yourself that experience!

Check out the map above, it really helps with finding where items are spawning. It used to be you could find pretty much every weapon by just looting some airfields over and over, but recently that has changed. I was getting frustrated because I was trying to find a .357 magnum but I found out with that map that they are only spawning at construction sites and generic office building. I like the recent changes because it makes the game about conservation of ammo, because you can't just find the ammo you need everywhere, it is becoming a true survival game, slowly but surely.
