Tent and Server Question

So when persistent items come and tents can start sticking around in a server, the main question is does a server ever get taken down or become unsupported (meaning stops getting paid for) ? If so how often does that occur?  

 

If that is a yes and frequently, does that mean if you put a tent on a server that no longer is functional, does that mean you lose the tent and all of the stuff in it?

If the server goes down. And never comes up. No gear. So pick an official server. That way they wont go down like that

The over issue is servers get renamed and or modes change....

They really need some way to identify which server you left your tent on.

Also I would like to be able to see more detail in server history like date last played om and or amount of hours played on
