anteridy 2 Posted August 7, 2014 So what is going on with shaking of the iron sights? Last night I was testing new mode and turned out that my scope is shaking all the same if I stay, kneel or prone. It is tolerable with iron sights but with scope is just beyond crap. I've tried to lay down for few min assuming shaking is due to running, but it never stopped (~1 hr in game time). Is that yet another bag or it follows some weird logic of "realistic" gaming? What is your way to snipe now?
foxdie_01 121 Posted August 7, 2014 Try morphine or a splint. Many, including myself have reported this reduces the effect greatly. Then add an addition hold breathe action to another key, so you right click and hold + plus press your other binded key for double hold breathe. These two methods combined make shooting accurately possible.

Evil Minion 943 Posted August 7, 2014 I tried painkillers after I received the "My leg is in pain." warning but it popped up again so I guess they are either still not working or only working for a limited time. A splint fixed the issue for me. Other than that sway is significantly different for me depending on stance and resiting state but independent of weapon and scope- a hundgun with iron sights got just the same sway as a rifle with scope. Bathamel 1 Posted August 7, 2014 I have heard that zombies often brakes you arm without being shown in inventory. Morphine helped me out aswell. But its still big sway right after you have done some running ;)
foxdie_01 121 Posted August 7, 2014 doesnt work. this shaking came with the patch As did mine until i used the method above. Have you actually tried it, or you just assuming it wont work?

Thanks for the tip with breath holding - with LR scope the right click just zooms but doesn't affect sway. Will try that too. Thanks!
pizuicas 82 Posted August 7, 2014 I also noticed this issue. It is just impossible to aim with actual sway. Try a LRS and a Mosin and the PSO with the AK....both have the exact same issue. It is not a "catch your breath" type of thing, but a new bug that need to be fixed. And yes, it the same 100% healthy, relaxed and proned with bipods (in the case of the AK, since you can no longer use it on the Mosin). And to be honest, I haven´t tried to be on drugs to be able to aim :D ! Cheers.

I got a sway, yes - but while holding breath it's pretty low 1mm-2mm if anything.I would suggest you really try splints/morphin. I had several armfractures without any information about it (TAB). frozenjaws 69 Posted August 7, 2014 morphine or splint will fix it no problem, if you leg is broken and/or in pain it affects the sway as much as if your arm is broken. Or if your just new to the whole dexterity thing, bigger weapons with alot of attachments will have more sway, and that is obviously increased if you have been sprinting. pilgrim* 3514 Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) Double hold breath? I have 3 keys assigned for hold breathe to triple hold breath. Using LRS the right mouse key zooms in.. but right mouse key also does "hold breath".. and the hold breath currently only slightly holds and centers the crosshair just for a moment, so by the time you have zoomed in all the way, the "hold breath" effect has already finished... ok ? Easiest way to deal with this is to use '+ ' and ' - ' on the numeric pad to zoom in and out. So you zoom in with numeric + and then when you're zoomed in, the right mouse button will give you hold breath any time you want it, so you can actually see it work. It's no big deal - but it may help aiming. But for instance foxdie_01 who is a sniper, doesn't care to use it. So you have to try it yourself, see if it's useful. Best Thing is to read my explanation of a better mathematical formula for the sway, to make the sway effect more realistic, without reducing it.. just make it more like what happens when you aim a real gun. No one likes maths, I guess (??) but if you work out what I'm saying in that thread it is VERY SIMPLE and could be a GREAT IMPROVEMENT for sway in DayZ and in the whole ArmA series.I'm a genius, is why.
