King Raptor 191 Posted August 5, 2014 The problem is that I can only sharpen my axe when it's ruined or badly damaged, and it'll only go up to damaged. Why can't I just repeat the action over and over until it's pristine? Because "pristine" would suggest something like "store-bought, brand-new and still in blister packaging" a state an object will never return to if you start rubbing rocks against it ... Deathlove 2286 Posted August 5, 2014 Damn straight. Not even including the fact that the types of axes in Day Z aren't even for felling trees. We have a Splitting axe (for splitting logs, with a wide head profile and blunt-ish edge) and a Firefighter's Axe (again, not for chopping trees). For the most "bang for your buck" when felling, use a dedicated "Hewing Axe", with a much longer and thinner head profile for cutting wood fibers.Well im STILL waiting on this chainsaw. I wonder whats taking them so long to get it out? Maybe there is allot of moving parts and stuff that need to be worked on first as well as the mechanics for it? *shrugs*
omgwtfbbq (DayZ) 1069 Posted August 5, 2014 Because "pristine" would suggest something like "store-bought, brand-new and still in blister packaging" a state an object will never return to if you start rubbing rocks against it ... Then why not worn? The damage system is flawed because it doesn't make sense for every item. Some it does, example clothes or weapons, but in the case of food or melee weapons, I fail to see how a crowbar can be ruined
darthbane67 92 Posted August 5, 2014 ef that noise item decay over time is the biggest bs any game has ever had. My clothes haven been fine for years I don't shop that often at all my clothes still look good. Now my work clothes and clothes that get used and abused do decay and get damage. This system of clothes getting damaged in order to get damaged is not some type of magic bs it is legitimate and understandable. Having some arbitrary system that decays items over time does not make sense in a game that is not centered around crafting like in RPGs and MMOs where we have players that are artisans. Mullraugh 1151 Posted August 5, 2014 I don't understand how a Military Jacket (specifically made NOT to tear) gets torn up and ruined after a few zombie punches.
