HeroAtDay BanditAtNight 6 Posted August 3, 2014 So im kinda of feed up of using my AKM, and since 556 now spawns at military locations, I figured that using an M4 now is a good time as ammo is there. Problem is that hell crash sites don't spawn now (as of 0.47). So should I go up to people and rob their M4s and leave my AKM for them? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Probably hackers anyway.Not true, my stable characters both regular and hardcore have/had m4's and I'm not a scripter nor did I acquire them from a script kiddy. I haven't played either in a few weeks but last time I checked they were still there. Stable build has a few 60 round coupled mags and hardcore has a few 30 round mags and a 40 round mag Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Katana67 2907 Posted August 3, 2014 I have no idea of the statistics these days, but I don't see any reason to go out of your way to get an M4A1 from anywhere (aside from the "status symbol" factor). AK-101 seems like a much better choice. Magazines spawn in regular military buildings. Attachments can be transferred from the AKM to AK-101. Plus it looks rad. AKM is perhaps an even better choice as it stands now. Magazines spawn in regular military buildings, including the 75 rounder. Attachments are relatively easy to come by. Ammunition spawns all over the place. But then again, I don't think assault rifles are, or should be, anything special. They're inherently intermediate and mid-tier in almost every aspect. Fastest rotationspeed, most stability, least recoil, shoots on spot even with vanilla attachments now and can be spraypainted to your desires. I just got my hands on one again and tested it. I still don't see any reason to use it over something like the AK-101 or AKM, when they're much easier to keep going and find in the first place. Khanarac 252 Posted August 3, 2014 Thats right, but the turning speed and stability makes a huge diffrence imo. With an AKM I have lost closequarters against FNX, and as FNX-user won over AKM guys. Eitherway, if you happen to get a M4, I'd try to maintain it for as long as possible. If you have 2 mags that mostly guarantees good battleperformance, and the ammo is sometimes very elusive, other times it's there for the taking. I had luck. I had MP5K today, but without magazine or buttstock, so I ditched it.M4 I left on corpse of a dude we killed at NWA. He also had AKM + drum mag so I took that instead. His buddy had AK101 and that went to my pal. I'm not huge fan of NATO guns in DayZ anyway :-). Luckily they had ammo box full of 5.56x45, so my buddy can keep on using that AK101, until somebody kills him.I was pretty loaded with 7.62x39, since I had SKS, so my new AKM is going to be fed well. chepaco3290 59 Posted August 3, 2014 Yesterday I followed a hacker who had an M4 with an unlimited clip for about 30 minutes. I watched his route and knew where he was headed, so I set up behind a bush and waited for him. I was on the side of a hill so when he walked up, he had to walk slowly. Everything went perfectly as planned, and he got close enough that I could have hadcuffed him. Had my .357 mag in hand, aimed as his head, clicked, nothing....LBM bug. Switched to my SKS, clicked, same result. He heard me right behind him, so he turned around, and unloaded a few dozen rrounds into me. I guess he thought it was funny to unload an unlimited clip into my dead body who only died because of a game-breaking bug. I get the LBM bug EVERY TIME (not exaggerating) I play this game, and usually occurs an hour into the game. I've died more by glitches than I have by human players. Until these glitches are ironed out, I've given up looking for the ellusive M4. Because I guarantee you, the moment I get that M4, I'll die from a bug. Good luck with your quest though! (I carry 4 pistols for trading purposes)I gave him my fully loaded pistol, and as about I gave him food and a water bottle.
