KamiOfKOS 50 Posted August 3, 2014 1st thing, dayz run better on intel cpus right know ( or what i observed ) so go for an i5 or i7, os is good but for the price of a new license i can tell you go for 8.1 x64 + classic shell ( win7 style ), seven support will drop soon, win9 expected in 2015.
KingOfTime 267 Posted August 3, 2014 It will run it, but you wont get 50-60fps inside of cities. My 3570k/gtx680 struggles to get 20fps in some cities.

Guest Posted August 3, 2014 ...seven support will drop soon...Yes and no. Mainstreamsupport might end in 2015, after that you still get 5 years extended support.

KamiOfKOS 50 Posted August 3, 2014 If you plan to invest time in this game i suggest you an i5 3.0Ghz min, a better vga ( whit 2GB if you have a fhd monitor EX gtx760 or wait the new 8xx series in september) and a sdd, even a small one where you can install dayz. Soon or later you will forget it.

KamiOfKOS 50 Posted August 3, 2014 so do you think my gpu will handle this game with no problem with the i5?I dont know wich resolution you using and anyway the gtx750ti for the very good card is it will not max out dayz in fhd.

Guest Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) listen, dayz is alpha and work in progress. I don't know a single rig (even if it cost like 4000$) wich can handle that game at the moment without problems cuz clientside is not optimized yet. once devs start optimizing you'r fine with that setup. Get your hand on some tests instead of askin in this board, 10 users gonna tell you 10 different things and after that your more confused then before. Guest Posted August 3, 2014 Yes and no. First of all you should think about if u only wanna play DAYZ or if u goin to play other games too? As told, you could buy a rig for about 2000 bucks and still walk thru some towns experience massive fps-drops. If u wanna play only dayz, decent on mid-settings, tomorrow, get your hands on a intel cpu - i5/i7/xeon - depending what you wanna do in the future. At the moment you get more performance with a better cpu, rather then a better gpu.
Guest Posted August 3, 2014 For your own good, never start building a rig only for one game, especially when the game is rare optimized like DayZ is. At the moment and someone please correct me, DayZ is more optimized to Intel&Nvidia then for AMD/ATI.

Not sure if u gonna front me with that or what's even the deeper sense - i might misunderstood yer. My intention was, the OP should get some facts from other sources and i'm not talkin about "everyone who can install windows or ubuntu think they are IT pros"-persons - i talk from ppl doin benchmarks on a professional way - just as example. Also, everyone buildin an own rig should be familiar with the matter, OP askin in THIS forum, if his rig is fine, just reflect how deep he's into. As stated, i might misunderstood ya - if you thougt i wanna challenge your question, nope.

Funkmaster Rick 373 Posted August 3, 2014 Ignoring the kiddies, the answer is basically:Yes your rig will run it, no your rig will not run it at 60 FPS. Rigs that routinely run Crysis with 60+ FPS will fail at DayZ. It's the engine, not the rig. Your GPU/CPU combination will probably average about 30 FPS inside cities (and you should expect sub-10 FPS drops every handful of blocks). With some optimizations and telling your card to over-ride DayZ on certain functions, you'll probably get it up to 45 FPS inside cities. You should still expect sub-10 FPS drops no matter what, though they'll be significantly rarer if you've optimized properly.
