Dayz mod sharing with Steam

My brother shared his Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA and dayz mod with me on steam but whenever hes online I cant use games in his library and if I'm on the game and he gets on it'll kick me within a few mins. 

 

 

My question is if i use Dayz commander or playwithsix can I play Dayz mod if he's on his steam acct or will I still be kicked off??

 

Ways to get around this annoyance would be helpful too. thank you

buy a copy? not sure if the dayz commander option will work but its worth a try - they go on sale often enough bought mine for 7 bucks friends for 5$

Just download Dayz Commander or playwithsix and try it? They're both free.

It won't work as you're both trying to play on the same copy of the game. Arma 2 doesn't use CD keys any more AFAIK, but it's essentially the same as if you were both trying to play on the same key.

 

You need to buy your own copy of the game if you want to play at the same time.
