Red_Ensign 990 Posted July 26, 2014 (edited) this week I've been doing something different with my hardcore character. I've imposed two rules - no bullets and no canned food or drinks. and it's been going pretty well. got a bow made, found some arrows, learned how to make a fire and cook food, and I've gotten much much better at taking out zombies with an axe. made a fishing pole too, but the fishing equipment was just too much to carry with all the other stuff. for food I've been eating fruit and veggies, etc.. today on my coffee break (I work from home) I was traveling to another town and I spotted a deer. took four arrows but I got him. :-) only recovered one arrow though. venison on the menu tonight! XD if you see my cooking fire (in about 5 hours when I'm off) stop by for some. I'll be back in the NE somewhere. I also have some rare goods to trade. [edit] on the way to dinner I found a boar also and introduced it to my axe. :-) made myself a stylish leather backpack and had enough hide left over for my dinner guest to make one too. a stupid server reset ate my bow and half my trade goods while I was making space for all the boar bits, but we swapped a few things. I also showed off my prowess in fire making and cooking, marred by my eating a piece of deer before it was quite done (embarrassing, that). all in all, a pleasant day. Red_Ensign 990 Posted July 26, 2014 (edited) Where is a good place to find the composite arrows? police cars are mostly where I've found them, and police stations and I think military buildings. you don't need many at all, because you'd basically only use them for hunting game and you can retrieve them.
