DayZ Comparing Weapon Stats

Hello and welcome to my guide on selecting the right weapon. I have over 3000 Hours on Both DayZ SA & DayZ Mod , so this guide will be based on that , and the weapon stats. I hope you enjoy reading this .
( Note that this is my first ever "Guide" And I will always improve this , and keep it up to date .
Table of content .

Blunt Melee


There is currently 4 Blunt Melee Weapons in DayZ .
Baseball bat
Crowbar
Fire Extinguisher
Pipe Wrench

All of these have the same damage stats of :
⦁    Shock (Head) 6000
⦁    Shock 80
⦁    Damage (Blood) -10
⦁    Damage (Health)-10
⦁    Bleed Change 40%
So , if your not sure what one to take , keep in mind that there all the same .

 

Bladed Melee


There is also 4 Bladed Weapons .
Combat Knife
Machete
Sickle
Pitchfork

Here , the best one is the pitchfork , here are the pitch forks stats.
⦁    Shock (Head) 5000
⦁    Shock 50
⦁    Damage (Blood) -50
⦁    Damage (Health) -50
⦁    Bleed Chance 100%

 

Bows


There is currently 2 bows in the game .
Improvised Ashwood Shortbow
Crossbow
Both have the same damage stats of
⦁    Shock (Head) 20000
⦁    Shock 200
⦁    Damage (Blood) -200
⦁    Damage (Health) -100
⦁    Bleed Chance 200%
But , the crossbow has more attachments ,
So when your not sure about these two , according to the stats , you should take the crossbow.

 

Handguns


There is currently 8 Handguns in DayZ , here they are
1911
1911 Engraved
Amphibia S
CZ75
FNX45
LongHorn
Magnum
P1
But according to stats , they all do the same damage , so here its all personal preferences , and attachments , and there the FX45 Win

 

Rifles

There is currently 6 Rifles in DayZ , listed bellow
AKM                                                                                                                                                                                     

Blaze 95 Double Rifle                                                                                                                                                         M4A1                                                                                                                                                                         

Mosin 9130                                                                                                                                                                   SKS                                                                                                                                                                         

Sporter 22

According to stats @DayZWiki , all rifles have the same damage (Excluding the Sporter 22)

  • Shock (Head) 20,000
  • Shock 500
  • Damage (Blood) -500
  • Damage (Health) -200
  • Bleed Chance 200%

So here , we are going to need to breakdown them by ;

⦁    Rate of Fire
⦁    Recoil
⦁    Noise
⦁    Zeroing
Here , the M4A1 and SKS wins , so lets breakdown both.

According to all these stats , the M4A1 wins .

Please note that this guide is not complete yet , I will be adding stuff as the update goes , and please give me feed back on this guide , and how it can be improved .

Request for it to be stickied and indeed have everything stuffed in one message? Kinda useful, I like these obscure stats.

 

Btw, it doesn't really need those images.

Also, disagree on the pistol thing. Obviously the Magnum is the best choice because it doesn't need a clip. So until you find a clip, which is unlikely, I'd say the Magnum rules all.

What is the damage on the rifles compared to the crossbow? Crossbow seems very, very ineffective yet it has better stats than melee weapons assuming you are not aiming for the head.

The damage is around the same , im going to need to figure out a way to test out the damages my self .|

Strange becausd we found the crossbow to be terribly ineffective. I guess the low rate of fire played a big role.

The DayZWiki stats for rifles might be wrong/need modification. At least this experiment by Aggathor suggests that the blood damage of the Blaze 95 is probably 1500 while the blood damage of the Sporter is probably 1000.

 

Also by my own experiences the Mosin does significantly more damage than the SKS needing about half the shots to kill the target. I couldn't gather any real data though because of lack of willing targets. :lol:

Correct , most stats are wrong on the dayz wiki , we are currently finding a way to get all correct damages .

Again referring to Aggathor because he has posted a method in some videos. The basic concept is hitting a healthy suvivor once and measuring the time between health status change (no status/healing/healthy) as regeneration values are already known (1 for health, 3 for blood when fully engergized and hydrated).
