Saddest death in gaming

I would like to ask you about the saddest death in gaming. Which one is yours?

This is not only the saddest, but the worst one i've done.

 

A while back in DayZ.

 

Me and my buddy are playing.

NE Airfield

Im in the top of the ATC tower

Ran up there because we spotted someone and i almost shat my pants

Full gear, raring and ready to go

Have about 10 hours on this guy so far

Me and friend in vent

He tells me he is running towards my building

I dont hear him because i am shatting bricks so hard and trying to listen for the other guy

He says in his mic that he is inside my building

Didnt hear him cause my bricks were being shat

Turn around to check the metal stairs to head down

See a guy with his back to me watching the other set of stairs

Proceed to shoot the dog shit out of him in the back

"DUDE IM HIT"

me "Where the hell are you, i just shot someone"

i run outside

realize what i did

Feel like shit

Come back in, of course he didnt have a swift and painless death

He is still barley breathing

Try to give him epi pen

Try an IV kit

Over like the next 5 minutes buddy bleads out next to me because i shot him

 

Its moments like this in DAYZ that you almost get real life experiences/emotion. Really the only game i've played that i've felt bad for killing my friend in. Was kinda surreal.

Death by server monsters are obviously the worst (Bug linked deaths)

 

I was in a building, near a wall on the 2nd floor, then the server restarts...

I reconnect back after a while, and "You are dead".

 

The Alpha can be frustrating sometimes, but hey, it's Alpha.

 

 

Another "funny death" :

 

I was on top of a police station, then missclick the "get over fence" button instead of "get up".

Fall to the ground, and miraculously survive with not even a scratch.

 

20 seconds later, I suddently die...

This just happened to me yesterday: Was playing alone at NWAF, went into woods behind fire station to log out. Hadn't seen any zombies in at least 10 minutes. Stopped in the woods, carefully scanned around for about 30 seconds to make sure I didn't have agro. Didn't see anything, so went to log out screen. Just as I hit EXIT button, I hear "RAWWWRRRR!!". After cursing I immediately try to log back in. I get the 30 second timer, and I'm a fresh-spawn.

First time I got disinfectant spray I wanted to check it out, and when I right clicked it I accidentally chose drink instead of inspect. You can all guess what happened maybe 20 minutes later... and I was all excited to try to force feed it to someone. Karma at it's finest.

Oh I got this:

 

On the mod I was playing Vanilla chernarus with a few friends. We found a smashed up bus in Elektro that only had one wheel and needed near enough everything fixed to run again. We spent a good four hours running as far as the factory in the north, everywhere in Elektro and the nearby areas trying to get all the parts. After a painfully long amount of time , we got it fuelled and fixed and ready to go.

 

We decided to drive to Cherno and then NWAF in search of other vehicles. Except we didn't make it through Cherno. There is a bridge at the start of Elektro - which we refer to as 'bouncy bridge'. We call it this because it fucks up any ATV that goes on it and sends it flying for absolutely no reason at all. As expected, there are two ATV's glitched inside the bridge construction. I decide it is a good idea to ram them out of the way. The only problem is, they both exploded and destroyed out bus, killing everyone.

 

It was a sad day, and many rage quits were had.

We had a buddy who is basically terrible at Dayz. He finally made it to us after at least 2 hours of trying to find us.

 

Sadly on the way he found a Pristine Banana and ate it. Welp, when he makes it to us he tells us that he's now sick.

 

Turns out it must have been a Pristine Rotten Banana and he died at our feet. He rarely plays at all now.

 

Now all I gotta say about that is, classic...

 

 

~2nd~

Me and a buddy had characters we managed to keep alive for about two weeks. Allot of storys were made.

 

We ended up making a 10th or so trip to the NWAF. It took us about 5 hours with all the side tracking so it was late.

 

As soon as we made it to the fence my buddy died of a heart attack. He full sprinted into a face plant. I laughed uncontrollably until his fateful words.

 

"I'm dead bro, wtf!?"

 

Then I cried like a child...

 

~3rd~

Me and a group of friends were together when a buddy alt-tabed out for a second. When he came back his M4 went full auto with no stopping it. Killed everyone but me.

 

Never heard so many grown men scream like school girls...

I would like to ask you about the saddest death in gaming.

When I played Silent Hunter 3 without loading (except when quitting and starting up again, of course ... like 'hardcore' mode, just self imposed).

Managed to stay alive as a U-Boot ace until the autumn of '43 ... hundreds of narrow escapes and near-misses behind me. Every singe part of my Type VII had been hit by depth charges at least once. Half my crew had been wounded. Anyway, autumn of '43 off the French coast at La Rochelle, this British naval bomber places a bomb right in my control tower. My hyper-experienced crew tried desperately to fix the leaks and pump out the water but it's too late. I sank till the boat's hull collapsed.

I had a character that had been going on around her third month. Survived a 3 on 1 encounter in Berezino with some hit and run tactics. It was intense. Satisfying. Broke my arm though, and lost most of my blood. Stumbled into the clinic only to see another player looting. Told him to get the fuck on the ground and asked if he had any morphine. He complied.. But then I got my leg broken by a Mosin firing from somewhere behind me... I don't know if they were working together or not but I like to think they were... So before the unknown shooter could chamber the next round I unloaded my pistol into his friend's chest. Then I heard that cracking PEW!

You are dead.
