Seriously, they "just started working on vehicles" ?

Well walker, well I am KIND of with you on questioning what the Devs have been doing, as I think any responsible consumer should do, I think you're taking it a bit too far. I mean they literally have to do a lot of the vehicle work from the ground up, and they have been working on a lot of other things. I mean it's like someone up there said (i am too lazy to look), the devs even said it'd be one of the last things they finish.

 

So just chill out, find some stuff to do in-game in the mean time, and just try to be a LITTLE more patient.

Glad they are not spinning their wheels on that but are instead adding a host of other new features

A few days ago someone was reporting the updates on Reddit.    I was astonished when they said the team relayed that they "just started working on vehicles". 

 

Why is no one concerned that they JUST started working on vehicles?  Isn't something that complicated and such a huge feature of a completed DayZ that it is something they should have been working on for at least 6 months already?

 

On one hand, God Bless them for their honesty.  But on the other..........  We sure as hell ain't getting no vehicles until after Christmas. 

 

 

This is horrible news and yet no one has said a freaking word about this.   I have waited patiently for 5 days seeing if anyone else noticed this little accidental admittance of bad news from the dev team.

Well, I have 2 things to say.

 

1: I agree that the pace is a bit slow, however you have to remember Bohemia Interactive isn't a huge studio. They have little staff, so obviously things are going to go slower.

 

2: I also agree vehicles should have been a bigger priority, but these guys are right. I would rather have good, working vehicles then glitch buggy ones. Once they add vehicles and fix the problems with zombies/add more zombies, this game will be damn near flawless.

Man why don't we have a finished product yet? Oh yes that's right, calm down bro, they said small vehicles possibly by Christmas (bicycles yo! Technically a small vehicle) so let's all just wait and see what happens, nothing on the map worth a vehicle yet. Later there will be I'm content to wait (plus Destiny beta yo)

I enjoy the feel of the game as it is now. Even if they slowed us down I like the gameplay more were we are treking around on foot and dealing with the limitations it brings. I like that you have to work to get from point a to point b. with cars it can become too trivial to travel....helos will be the worse even if they are rare.  Adding vehicles feels too much like GTA to me ....i get others want them but I won't use them. I won't complain about others playing with them either but I hope the amount of cars allowed on a server is very limited like no more than 1-2 cars and that gas is hard to come by. 

 

I facepalm every time they make changes that hinder gameplay like the current experimental where u have to walk with a weapon raised and state we cannot do this cause we are not military trained survivors....BUT somehow we all are capable and knowledgeable enough to repair and fly a helo with 0 training? Contrary to what others have stated I can jog with a weapon raised and I never served in the armed forces.....but there is no way In hell I can fly a helo without extensive lessons. Even learning to restore a car to a drivable state is harder to learn then basic infantry tactics and gun handling but somehow they want us to move like fat kids.

People like you should leave the forums and not come back. They're recreating the zombie pathfinding mechanic, how they detect you as well as the gameplay engine. Please read something its not an overnight project.

So because I questions the development progression I should simply be eliminated from all Dayz Discussions?  What the hell is this, a Stalinist Commissar Show Trial?   Just put a bullet in the back of the neck of anyone who points out any truthful questions?     People like you makes me sad to think how closed minded and backwards many are.     If I didn't care about the DayZ project, I wouldn't be here.

 

Now let me extend the olive branch and say that I am glad they are working on the core and we appreciate it.    However, there has been no real progress.    We have heard that some of the zombies are not walking through walls, but some are.

 

Also,   do you think that zombies can't still hit you without even facing  you, or that all of a sudden, zombies will not complete their hit on you after you shoot them because of some nav mesh work?

We're not supposed to be playing this game it is what half a year into alpha? This is a pre-release of a game and you're whining about vehicles and the clear flaws in the game that have been brought up for the past 8 months on these forums. What is ranting on the forums and getting mad because your game isn't complete doing for you? nothing exactly. 

They're remaking the engines for this game so when the release comes it will (hopefully) be depleted of its errors and flaws. I suggest you uninstall the game and come back in a year or two. Go play the mod if you're going to whine about their being no vehicles, I'm sure you'll find servers with 9999+ Vehicles at your very finger tips.

Oh please, it has been stated since the beginning, they are porting to a new engine and thats probably why they are only starting now to make vehicles.

I think the thing I like the most about these sorts if threads is when people give opinions about things that their opinions suggest they know nothing about.

For example 'putting vehicles in is easy'.

Much lolz.

In term if this thread, I don't get the issue. With any other game you only get vehicles, or anything fir that matter, once the game is finished.

Also, why would they waste time investing in something that is such a small part of the game, when there is still a significant amount of work needed on core features?

I for one am GLAD they are not working in them until now as it means they are focused on the important stuff.

Plus it means that we still have some time before people are whinging about buggy vehicles all over the forum.
