Resolution problem

Recommended Posts

It could be a bug, but I'm hoping somebody can help me. After not seeing any servers, I restarted my client assuming there was an update between losing connection to my last server and then. When I reload the game, my screen is stretched. In the options my aspect ratio is still a 16:9 resolution, yet everything is slightly wider than it should be. At first I thought it may have been something to do with the FoV, but that wasn't the case.

Is this something people know about or would it be worth making a bug report? In any case, help would be appreciated.

RESOLVED

Spoke too soon. Issue can be resolved by going into the 'user interface' options. There you'll find extra resolution options (How silly of me to think that UI resolution wouldn't affect literally everything else) and aspect ratio options.

The extra resolution options should help if your game looks extremely low-res, despite running at 1080 or higher.

The game killed your config and will do so often enough in this patch. Go to your dayz config folder and make it "read-only"

In my case: C:\Users\Alexander\Documents\DayZ   rightclick the file with your computername and check "read only".

If you do that, none of the changes you make to gamesettings will be saved (If you close the game, it will be like you never changed anything). So do this after you set everything up the way you want to.

Anyway, once you did that the game can not destroy your config again.

We've been seeing this question come up a lot lately, so I'm going to change the title a bit and sticky this topic.

Hopefully it will help those who are having this issue.

I'm making a dedicated sticky with the solution for clarity, and setting this one loose.
