faramon 66 Posted July 17, 2014 When the MP5K was added I was hyped .. hell I got myself a full police uniform (including ridonkulous hat cos lolol) and eventually found an MP5K + a couple of 30 round mags. I rocked along with this using the MP5K as a primary and rolled along with my buddies, we eventually get to Balota and come under fire as we circle around we get to the bad guys side and I find him hiding in a bush facing the wrong way, it surprised me and I open up at sub 3 metres (like the MP5K was practically touching his back) .. and I emptied my mag into him, he turns around as I do this and opens up on me with a .45 and gets me xD .... I was to say a little bit surprised, like I knew it'd be low damage but I swear I'd of had better luck using a sporter .22. Is it just the damage system is a bit skewy at the mo (I know they have the whole absorbing damage on items stuff .. and since it was his back maybe even more so with a full bag of stuff to go through?) or is the MP5K just That inaccurate / low damage? Just kinda wanted to ask outloud since I was a little irritated at this lack of sudden massacre of this dude .. xD (I also had another event earlier but that was in a tree / bush so I fear thos emagic leaves bounced the 9mm away).
MadWookie 573 Posted July 17, 2014 I've noticed in the latest patch that most of the guns seem to do a lot more damage, for example the Mosen used to be a 1 shot KO and 2 shot kill. Now it's a 3 shot kill with no KO. The AKM seems a bit weaker as well not too noticeable though with that gun. To sum things up, yes the damage system is broken, at least in my opinion. SFRGaming 718 Posted July 17, 2014 Sounds like you were a victim of de-sync.
faramon 66 Posted July 17, 2014 Hmmm it is a possibility .. I have to say I'd been fine up till then and the other case of point blank into a guys back was similiar, no kill (though i did get the other guy as he ran via my pistol) but some blood to indicate some hits .... eadaif 34 Posted July 17, 2014 I've had the same bad luck with MP5, emptied a 30 rd mag into a guy about 3 meters away, he shrugged them off and killed me with his AK. I didn't see any hits on him at all. In it's current state it isn't worth carrying. @MadWookie I took out a full-health, fully geared guy at Balota with my Mosin in only 2 shots, but I agree, no KO. Maybe they're just addding in some variability to the weapon damage, makes sense. Cuz I have also been insta-killed by 1 AKM round to the head. Or at least I only HEARD one round. FYI all these encounters were within the last week.

tobias winfro 305 Posted July 17, 2014 When you say the guy was in a bush and you shot him were there any leaves from the bush in the way? The reason I ask is I've run across a few situations where the leaves from trees and bushes seem to be bulletproof. It sounds silly but I've tested it with a clanmate, if there is even a small portion of that leaf or bush covering a person then the offending shrub/tree will absorb the damage

(M4A1) At the time I was kinda surprised to see his back suddenly move towards me from the bush next to me, otherwise there would of been a bit more finesse and some aiming for that cranium, but aim wise my dot was in first person and already on top of his spine so there wasn't even a turn / reorientation of my aim. Cullis 7 Posted July 17, 2014 Red Orchestra 2 has 64 player servers that work pretty well. It uses client-side hit detection though. I wonder if something like DayZ could be implemented in Unreal Engine. UE3 has maximum sized maps of 10x10x10 kilometers, but I've never heard of anyone running a map that big. Grimey Rick 3417 Posted July 17, 2014 Yeah, the MP5 is bad. I'll still take an FNX over it for CQB when carrying a Mosin.

rybo 171 Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) Avoid the damage mitigation via gear in there clothing slots and shoot them in the head. 1 shot with the Mosin and any 9mm unless they have a Kevlar helmet then it's 1-2 Mosin shots and 1-3 9MM. All I carry for a sidearm is the CZ75 or MP5K. Neither have every failed me, yet. I've been sniping for the last week and I have had only 1 guy out of at least 20-30 get shot by my Mosin and live to stand up. All of them were shot once and all were fully kitted. I assume there inventory slots were full. Edited July 17, 2014 by RyBo
