So do you know how to spot server hoppers even when looking at the server list? Do you despise hoppers?

 

Ok, then keep reading.. ;)

 

If you see a server that looks like it has a hopper or are on a server that has a hopper join do this:

 

Go to name change on main title screen. Change your player name to: IHuntHoppers, HoppersMustDie, HopperKiller, etc..

 

Join game. Now sit back and profit as the hoppers leave the game once they see you on the player list.. LOL :D

 

(I did this last night to much success.. like 5 times. Within minutes the server hoppers leave the game, ROFL! Now if players stay in game, and never leave while you're there you can assume either 1: they dont care or 2: they are sitting in a bush, or at the top of the stairs, somewhere paranoid out of their minds)

 

You can also take this to a REAL extent and while in game be camping a highly hopped location like Balota, or NWAF.

Thats wasting you time. Pro server hoppers join empty servers.

1. Go to barracks find rare items do not take them open all doora...most hoppers will leave if doors are open before checking.

 

 

I knew people did this or at least thought that people did this but now i have the proof! Glad I always double check never leave a loot behind!

This is dumb & shows you to be a borderline sociopath it is very sad to see players taking the law into there own hands in this manner. How come the guy that you find looting an empty fresh restart server to be a server hopper that must die? I don't server hop but I am that guy looting the low pop server that just restarted, not multiple servers but just the one, and you killed me?!?! Someone who is breaking no game mechanics or doing anything wrong just looting in relative safety. I am not saying that I should be safe or that you cant just shoot me for no reason but I should at least be safe from this buffoonery.

Normally it is easier to check who the hoppers are:

They normally spawn and then run for shelter to log off (som stupid ones just log off in the millitary building)

If I hunt them I wait for them to get ready to log...either trail em to their pine tree or watch to see if they sit down somewhere in the place they are looting.

Then just kill em...they dont even know or defend themselves. They hop to the next server and they are on the coast ;)

there is no way you can go to the NWAF and not expect to die, just no way.  I came down through it from the north yesterday and I could tell that it was looted, but as i'm just looking crossbow bolts (people usually just leave them) I still check everything out, got to the ATC and there was sooooooo much good kit lying about the place, fully kitted mosin with LRS and comp, in the fire stations there was notes on the ground from I presume killed friendlies and more kit strewn about the place.  It's always worth a look even if you think it's picked clean.

dont really do it anymore, too lazy and impatient to keep switching servers....plus i dont care about loot much, just find the essentials and then go get into action.

My exp with NWAF is it is the safest millitary spawn to loot.

Unless ur desperate for gear skip prisons (break ur legs glitch) and hangers as their gear sucks. Also skip the ATC unless ur desperate.

I clear each section in segments it is easy to tell if someone is there. Tents is easy to rule out and if u dont loot like an idiot u can clear it in less than 2 mins

Always check sniper hill better going down the runway. With a PSO or acog or lrs u can easily check for snipers without going over there.

Run along the woods to the barracks and check both front and back directions for players then loot (30 seconds in barracks)

Run along the woods to the end of airstrip over hill out of sight of air strip to last barracks (most dangerous) clear the woods first then check parameter and clear barrack.all takes less than 2 mins.

If ur looting prisons and hanagers there is no way to stay safe lone wolf as they either glitch and kill u or leave u trapped and cant be cleared in time before someone else arrives. They also have very little loot for the risk. Ull find more than enough in tents & barracks.

After ur done with NWAF run to Vybor factory drink (never drink at NWAF) then run to vybor base and approach it from the opposite side of vybor where the barn and hill are and open the gate that is nearest to starry (not one with guard shack) walk outside parameter to where the 2 barracks are loot in less than 1 min.

If u still need something u can do the last barrack by the prison but is most deadly. Approach through the bushes between barrack and prison and get in an out. Exit behind bac of prison through gate u entered.

I can do all of the above in less than 1/2 hour with only 5 mins tops of myself being exposed to danager. Most the time I can rule out campers and tell that I have enough space to loot before anyone could approach from outside.

Piece of cake really.

General loot rules:

Know wht u want and have space for it before hand

Only take wht u came for

Dont eat and drink and plan to be healthy before u begin

Gun out when in danger area

Gun away when travelling in woods for speed

Dont ever check under the bunks on ur own by proning..just leave it behind if u cant get it.

What did you even read what I wrote? I was calling sarcasm in general a fickle devil and was being light hearted but serious about you taking the criticism better than most.

 

Another thing what insult? Ok yeah I guess dumb and sociopath maybe insults but it was not directed at you. It was more directed at the general mindset you and others have your line of thought in this instance and only this one it does not bleed over sir.

I have been doing similarly when I wanted to loot airfields and military bases alone, I changed my nick to WallhackerRUS, most people immediatly leave already low pop server after I join them. So I can safely hop as much as I want. Suck it up, OP. Server hopper 4LIFE

A question about what constitutes server hoping.

 

My preference for servers, from most cared about to least:

1) 30+/40

2) png <50

3) Night & Day cycle

4) Long time between resets

5) Hardcore

 

It is hard to meet all of those criteria on the west coast of the US, so I take some magic combo of most of those, but let's say I sacrificed the whole long time between resets thing.  So I end up looting up fast because 1 hr resets yields insane amounts if everything, but it gets annoying, so a move to a server with long stretches between resets but still carry the gear from the load up...

 

Would the ethical thing in this case be to kill my toon and start from scratch?  I like starting with nothing as it has yielded my most fascinating, fearful moments, but it also yielded some amazing survival stories.  Is that the best thing to do, or maybe just dump everything I own to see if I can make it back to fully stocked again?
