Anomal 13 Posted July 11, 2014 Hey,Will the DayZ-SA Server files released when the game reaches beta or stable state?
Insane Ruffles 74 Posted July 11, 2014 No, I doubt it. I don't want anyone modding this game, and neither do the developers, I think. The only thing I would support being modded is Battle Eye, so people can implement or make better anti cheats as BE is crap at detecting hackers right now. The devs have stated that modding will be enabled when the game is released. At least according to this article. Perhaps someone can find actual dev statements on the matter? I hate to rain on your parade, but there will most likely be a fairly large modding community supported by the devs come time of release.
Anomal 13 Posted July 11, 2014 I'v have nothing against modded privat hives... becouse everyone can choose if he really wants to play on a kind of server like this or not.
kichilron 8550 Posted July 11, 2014 As long as there is a way of telling in the serverbrowser between official and modded servers, all is good. Modding has been confirmed already, by the way. And Dean stated himself, that he's really looking forward to it and what the community will come up with.

I usually support and enjoy games that allows for modding, but the concept of Dayz is a delicate thing, which can and (and as we have seen with the arma mods) will very easily be completely destroyed by modding.

I don't want to be playing regular Dayz and have someone with an insta-kill Alien gun from another server come and kill me.
blacklabel79 949 Posted July 11, 2014 I don't want to be playing regular Dayz and have someone with an insta-kill Alien gun from another server come and kill me. Private Servers that run mods are not connected to the mothership.
GrumpyFragger 67 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) The only modded thing I looking forward would be DayZ Vanilla on Namalsk and Taviana Edited July 11, 2014 by GrumpyFragger
Karmaterror 982 Posted July 11, 2014 Don't think itl happen but id like to see just things like texture mods and maps. I like the way L4D handles there mods, they sort of have a similar problem with it being a competitive game. They could let the community re-texture stuff like cloths, food, and weapons. Or they can make a new map that the set rules apply to. That way if you want your m4a1 to look like an old m16 you could...or have an exact mod replica of the hero costume made by a modder. If they used the old arma 2 face system and applied it to the items that were moddable, then maybe we could have it so everyone sees your custom texture for "blue check shirt" or whatever, even if they don't have that mod themselves. However the way BiS do mods, be able to do pretty much anything with it I guess :)
