Best, worst thing you've ever done?

Me and a few friends rounded up some freshspawns near Solinchiny. We made grand promises of Mosins, rice, and Taloon packs galore! We eventually picked up about eight of them, and we decided eight was enough to kick off the operation.

 

We stopped at the gas station. "Our friend with the loot will meet us here," I falsely promised. None of the newspawns were armed, so we took advantage of what little time we had. "SHOOT THE LEGS!" I demanded, to my comrades. The newspawns dropped to the ground, squealing in pain and anger. We tied them up, making sure they would not escape.

 

Finally, we took position. "FIRE!" I yelled, and we emptied our weapons into each of the fuel dispensers. And with that, they were all doomed to a fiery death.

 

Don't really regret it all that much, tbh.

Two friends (bambis) getting held up by bandits but they were just talking for a bit.

 

I spawned further up the road so ran down and said I'd save them.

 

On the way, bambi with shovel running after me. Told my friends in teamspeak and they said to the bandits that I was coming (ruins all element of surprise but I had a plan). Said to help me get rid of him, I got closer but there was a decent distance between me and the shovel guy. They asked me to put my hands up and drop my clothes. They said I was clear and told me to get behind them.

 

The bandits (one with mosin and another with m4) then slowly walked forward to engage shovel guy. Mosin guy was in front and m4 behind - ran straight at the m4 guy and knocked him out as the mosin guy shot shovel guy. Picked up the m4 and as the mosin guy spun round I peppered him with rounds.

 

It only occured after that they were not bandits but heroes. But at least I was full geared - still feel bad.

Another heartbreaking story;

 

Me and my girlfriend were holding NEAF back before it was changed and spotted a guy run into east jail (we were in ATC).

 

She acted as support/spotter as I went to jail to engage the guy.

 

Unfortunately, as I opened the door he heard me coming and popped out of the cell and killed me.

 

I respawned and ran back up. I got near to the airfield and decided I'd be oblivious to anything that happened.

 

He had tried to leave after he killed me but my gf fired off a shot that clipped him and he ran back in.

 

I spoke to him through the wall ensuring i was friendly. He told me to come in and to drop trou (so he could check if I had a weapon - and no, not that sort of weapon you dirty minded individuals). He gave me the all clear and gave me food.

 

He said that a sniper was outside and that he doesn't know what to do. I told him I'd try and spot him and then come back with the intel. For the purposes of authenticity I ran up to west jail, looted it (for something crappy like a baseball bat so he thought I wasn't a great player) and ran back. Said it was all clear and we should move out. After a little while he was comfortable enough for us to move out.

 

He dropped a shotgun for me and gave me rounds inside. I told him lets go outside. Meanwhile my gf was on the metal stairs of atc watching towards the east jail doors (you can only see about 4 meters from the front of the door).

 

I stepped out until I was in her sight then moved back slightly more. I asked him for a tin of pipsi or something and he said "sure" and walked towards me. As he was dropping it at my feet, my gf put a 7.62 straight through his cranium. He dropped to the ground in a pile in front of me.

 

Despite taking about 30 minutes or so to gain his trust, I felt terrible about it. I honestly did feel really bad for the guy. So much so that I apologised over in-game chat to him and even tried adding him on steam to give him his stuff back but he didn't even reply to me.

Gave an annoying fresh spawn some canned food then shot him with my mosin. To be fair he was waiting for a good moment to knock me out and take my gear, he kept trying to sneak closer and closer to me. IMO fresh spawns can be the most dangerous players cuz they have nothing to loose, 90% of them have just died and they are just looking for a geared player to kill and take his shit and if they die they just respawn in a different town.

 

Can't say I agree. 

Yes fresh spawns will be desperate, but all it takes to deal with them is to point a loaded gun at them if they come within 10 metres.

best/worst was when me and my friend were escorting two survivors from the airfield to a small town when shots were fired. everyone ran to cover as the group got seperated. i ran into this barn with one of the survivors and as soon as she stepped out . boom dead. the bandit thought she was alone for some reason (lol stupid?) and goes right to her body and begins to loot it and i have my sights on him when the server desyncs. a bandit got away due to server lag.

Worst:

Shot at a random guy running down the road. Hit his leg with that shot and broke it. He started screaming about why am I shooting at fresh spawns???

 

Best:

In a completely "human" moment I felt bad and apologized and attempted to bandage and splint him. I had an SKS in hands and Mosin on my back. While splinting him and making small talk I realized in horror that I'd dropped my SKS in order to splint him and he'd grabbed my gun. He pumped me full of all 10 rounds that were in my SKS, killed me dead as a door nob. I suppose I deserved it, and I also learned a valuable lesson about committing to a kill and how "long gun on back and long gun in hands" actually works. Sometimes we learn the hard way... I'm sure that splint was ruined when he looted me, he had a long crawl ahead being sorta between Kamishovo and Elektro, but at least he was alive and got his revenge.
