Confirmation - Legs break when picking up object

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I just wanted to confirm if anyone else is having problems when attempting to pickup objects your legs will break on random buildings. I was in an industrial building, and I clicked on a pipsi and my legs broke and now I have a fracture.

I have no way to respawn and I am stuck in the middle of no where.

Any way to resolve it? No zombies around for me to kill myself either.

Its confirmed that if you are not on the ground floor that your legs can break due to whatever.  Picking up objects causing broken legs.... not so much.

Picking up objects does not do this. It may have been a glitch, but it was not speccifically cause by picking up and object.

agreed. i've went upstairs in the jail buildings, and while standing in the main loot room, had my legs break for no reason. it's just the latency/lag caught up and it broke my legs.

OP, crawl outside if possible, take your axe to a tree and chop to get some wood, chop that into sticks, and make a splint. broken legs are much easier now.

also, sticks will stack 4 deep now, so you can always have a lot with you just in case.

Crawl to the neared wooded area, rummage around the floor looking for kindling. You will eventually find sticks. Hope the the almighty one in the sky (Michael Jackson) that you have rags/bandages to make a splint. Hence forth carry at least 2 sticks and 4 rags with you AT ALL TIMES.

In Dayz a strong breeze is enough to risk breaking your legs.  Scratch that, a mild breeze...

Thanks for the responses. I've had this happen several times, very frustrating. I did not know splints were operational, exactly the information I was looking for.

Thanks!

pro tip is not to run in buildings except for the ground floor, ever.

i always slow-walk in buildings and never got my legs broke yet, nor fell through the wall and died like one of my friends did

its a combination of the lag letting it appear that you run through a wall and the new physics saying "oh, he's pretty high up in the air, better break his legs"

Doesn't have to be a tree, you can get kindling (sticks) from a bush too. I don't carry extra sticks any more but I do make sure to always have rags in 2 different places in my inventory.

BTW, never keep valuable items in your pants as they may get ruined the same time you break your legs. I use the pants only for food and drink since they are not critical (when healthy) and can be found again easily.
