Dude, you and your friends obviously can't differentiate between a valid tactic and exploiding gamemechanics. You are abusing a exploit which was obviously not meant to be used as you can if you look at the game environment and common sense. Common sense should tell you that you can't normally look through a wall, but you can wait in a building. Even if you personally don't like it.

 

Killing other players is not making anyone a "bandit", and just because others do it as well was never a valid excuse in any society ever created on this planet.

What bothers me personally more than the fact that you used unfair, not intented, exploids is that you can't even see the difference in what you did and what the second group did to begin with.

 

In no way can you put cheating and just waiting in game that requires patiance in every aspect of it to survive on the same level. I can understand your "need" to defend your point of view here but next time just play fair. You will feel even better if you win like that, I guarantee it. At one point you asked what you should have done instead. Well for starters you could have been even more patiant and wait for them to come out or just walk away. But cheating to solve your problems will indespenable backfire at one point in your life that will be likely way more important than a game.

There is so many way to actually get rid of them in this tower but you just don't know about it. So yeah, you wanted to play dirty because they play "dirty" but it's because of player like you that glitch are becoming a normal way to play.

The worst part is to try to justify it, there is no fucking reason in this damn world to cheat or glitch in video game. Only morons does that because they don't want to die or loose their precious stuff.

camping is a legit playstyle - using bugs/glitches to take advantage against other players is just cheating and against any rule. you are not both bandits. the guys upstairs were bandits, you are just cheater

This is the worst video I've ever seen. The guys "camping" (which you seem to think is a bad thing, but is a perfectly viable strategy, unlike your exploiting) are not using the glitch you're using at all. They're just laying prone inside of a building watching both points of entry waiting for, in their mind, other people who won't exploit like little girls to come along for some good ol' fashioned amubshing fun.

 

So, what "lesson" are you "learning" them? That DayZ is an early access alpha build of a game riddled with annoying prepubescents that use every exploit in the book to kill other people on top of the fact that Regular's third person perspective is already a broken, poorly thought out exploit in and of itself?

EDIT: I just noticed another post where you compare camping and cheating by claiming that taking part in either act makes you a bandit. Wrong. Camping with the intent to ambush people makes you a bandit. Cheating makes you a terrible player. Banditry is a viable playstyle, like EtherImp mentioned. Cheating is not.

 

I'm still amazed you posted a video bragging about it, though. Astounding.

What worries me in this post is that the "camping" is considered a "lame" game tactic by so many players. Exploiting a wall is no doubt ban worthy, on par with duping or hacking, there is no difference, but establishing a "safe zone" is by no means something that should be considered "lame", as it's a viable military tactic.

 

Please leave your twitch-shooter mentality to your other FPS games, as this one has a completely different rule-set - you're not rewarded for kills, you're rewarded for staying alive, and that should change your approach completely.

 

So to the OP - the guys you killed were playing the game it is meant to be played, while you are not.

No. I need to explain a few things here.

 

 

 

 

We (my group and me) agree that we played in an inappropriate way. We are a bunch of 16-year olds and we used the bad coding to get a massive advantage. This is really bad, and as said, we should get banned for this, really. It's (even though it's an alpha) exploiting in such a way that it's ruining other people's gameplay and DayZ experience. Our apologies. Even though many people use the wall-glitch exploit, we know that it's no excuse to use it. And I was defending myself and my group, that's true, duh. :|

 

The 'bandits' were actually playing the game, we were playing the game in a wrong way, we were using the bad coding, as said before. We are indirectly bandits. If you want to call it like that. We don't KoS and we don't combat log, though. Prejudices...

 

The video has been removed because of various reasons. :)

 

We won't do this again, but I see it like this;

 

You are making a test and you really need an A, and then you see a book, opened, on the floor and you can cheat without anyone seeing it. You use the book, but you tell it your friends afterwards, and the teacher finds it out and gives you a F.

 

You know what I mean? It's very hard to NOT use it when it IS there and it's so easy to do it. But we learn from our mistakes, we won't do it again. :thumbsup:

But please, devs, I hope that this 'feature' gets removed fast because people (like us :blush: ) use it as we speak.

 

 

Sorry for the bad english, we are Dutch and too young to speak English very well :P
