trev186 389 Posted July 7, 2014 Hi, So in game you can store pants, vests and shirts inside of your backpack and then place items inside of those items... For example you can store a high cap vest inside of another high cap vest and then place an MP5K inside of high cap vest you are not wearing. This gives you 6 extra slots essentially. This issue has been around for as long as I have been playing Dayz SA. They fixed the backpack issue but they did not fix it for other items such as these. I assume this is a bug but does anyone know for sure or if they will fix? I started a bug report here but no one has upvoted it : http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=13562
Grimey Rick 3417 Posted July 7, 2014 This is common knowledge and is referred to unofficially as "item inception" as a parody of the movie, I assume. It can still be done with backpacks. Find a backpack, fill it to full, then find another empty backpack. Equip the empty backpack, leaving your full backpack on the ground. Now, double-click your full backpack and it will magically fit inside your new empty backpack even if the full backpack is bigger than the one you found. You can fit Mountain Backpacks into Tuluum Backpacks with five slots of inventory space to spare!
Etherious 907 Posted July 7, 2014 I thought they fixed the inception thing. Because I can't put items into empty backpacks, and vests when there in my inventory.
trev186 389 Posted July 7, 2014 They fixed it for backpacks it does not work But it works just fine with clothing and vests Kinda odd they would only fix it for backpacks which is why I ask.

hombrecz 832 Posted July 7, 2014 (edited) Wish devs fixed this very soon.I've shot some folks and some of them had pants in pants etc with items in it. This justified killing them 100% if I had any second thoughts. Edited July 7, 2014 by Hombre
ryanh 36 Posted August 24, 2014 Haha this is the first im reading about this but i also do the same thing, I no longer carry a backpack and instead 3 high cap vests, You make less noise with no bag, and you have better cammo value, though i did question the realism behind the vest inside vest thing. However it does come at a price, Ruined vest = Ruined everything, also You can no longer conceal a hatcet, therefor it must be droped, So i have to use my combat knife to deal with zeds, or a 22. but space is limited haha (no its not going on my back)
Mookie (original) 799 Posted August 24, 2014 I tried running with an assault vest inside my hicap vest a couple of characters ago. It was quite the pain in the ass though (a bit like running two rifles), so I stopped. You do get to a point with trying to maximise your inventory space where you should really just throw away those things that you're never really going to need, or have an opportunity to use before the game kills you in some random way. The fact that I'm capering about with over 500 rounds of 5.56mm being a case in point.
RagedDrew 209 Posted August 24, 2014 I started a bug report here but no one has upvoted it : http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=13562 Of course people won't up vote it, they'll be at a disadvantage with less inventory space if/when they fix it.I know a few people who do this and one in particular could bring an entire server to a grinding halt if he took anything out of his backpack, we called him the lag bomb.
