surf_polar 110 Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) No, this isn't a rant post! I just wanted to share what I just saw in the last DayZ session of mine. After me and my group got killed by a hacker last evening, I ragequitted the game. Couldn't sleep, so I decided to fire it up again. Spawned in Novodmitrosk. I have been there before, but I decided to explore the townhall there a bit, since I only recently learned you can actually explore the interior of it . So I went in the first few rooms, some clothing items, everything mostly civilian, nothing groundbreaking. The rooms looked nice though. Then I climbed another set of stairs. Wandered in the first room on the right, wow, what the fuck is with all this loot in here? Why is it all so neatly arranged at tables, bed, etc? I am talking about a gaslamp in the middle of the room, clothing items on shelves arranged like fitting outfits, 20-30 items per room!I walk into the next room, similar setup. Suddenly I see a player walking in the room, as much shocked to meet someone in there as me who was just dropping another batch of gear on the floor. Since I am not the player with malicious intent, I made the F1 greeting gesture, talked over the microphone and also wrote in chat greeting him. Unfortunately, I don't know why but he logged off the moment I sat down. Unfortunately you can't see all the loot on that screenshot, but believe me it was there. I mean, even though all that stuff will be reset with the next server restart anyway, the guy was pretty much building a small place to call home in there with all those rations, clothing etc. It was more that a group of 5 people could carry, so that obviously took some time for him. I don't know why, but that was heartwarming to see! :) So, to the guy living in there, you rock! And I am sorry if I intruded your house, no need to draw the baseball bat, I dropped some rations there for you and travelled to the next town. ;) Edited July 5, 2014 by surf_polar
Demonica 311 Posted July 5, 2014 How, I wonder, was he able to arrange stuff actually on the table? If that is possible, I wants to know how (unless it's a hack, then never mind that one ^^). I have no idea why or how he did it, but I have to agree. It is kind of cute. Although City Hall would be way to big for me :P Thanks for sharing anyway! Have a happy 4th of July! Stand next to a table and keep dragging the item around in the vicinity until it ends up where you want it.
Irish. 4886 Posted July 5, 2014 I am sorry if I intruded your hose Now I know why he logged..
surf_polar 110 Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) I've also tried it out myself with throwing the items, although it doesn't work with all of them. So as said, that's some nice dedication of that guy living in there. :) Now I know why he logged.. Haha, wrote the post and it's early in the morning, fixed! :D Edited July 5, 2014 by surf_polar
Irish. 4886 Posted July 5, 2014 It sounds to me like he was setting up a shop.. he came loaded with loot, and then was probably looting the entire building up above and filling all the shelves with them. Maybe he had some grand plan that you made him abort due to fear of being killed? Was an empty server?
surf_polar 110 Posted July 5, 2014 It was the server with the most people in my timezone that I could find (06/40 :( ) since I don't like playing on empty servers. Someone setting up a shop up there with even hiring some guards sounds awesome! :D
Irish. 4886 Posted July 5, 2014 Go back! Id love to find out what actually happened :)
Demonica 311 Posted July 5, 2014 I full heartedly second that! Go back, and take some more pictures if it's still there. Maybe he'll try again. This makes me wish soooooo much that we could have persistent loot already. It will be one of the first things I do, setting up a nice shop to trade stuff :-)
surf_polar 110 Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) Go back! Id love to find out what actually happened :) I actually did! I called two of my friends, I've waited a bit outside town for them to come there. So we went there and got shot by snipers. Guess from where? From top of the town hall. One friend has a Long Range Scope like me, other one watches the doors to the townhall just as we speak. There's two people camping in the townhall top up there, both with identical equipment. I'm watching the show from afar since I am a terrible shot and just provide recon and entertaiment. :P This will not stand however! The moment they are gone or (unlikely) shot by us, we will fortify that place and carry more loot there. Yay, one more goal in DayZ for us! :D Edited July 5, 2014 by surf_polar
Irish. 4886 Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) WHOA! ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE I FOUND THIS. :D http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/29wda6/please_add_more_realisticplausible_loot_spawns/ ..its your friends work in action.. lol Edited July 5, 2014 by lrish
Intactus 128 Posted July 5, 2014 Whoa. I don't think i can ever understand where people get this dedication to do things like this just for nothing/noone, but i wholeheartedly respect that. This is the shit that Dayz needs more of.And beans for Irish for catching this on Reddit. =)

And you're right, we need a lot more people like this on DayZ. I met a guy a while back, he is still around, name is Mugur.. and he was just for fun running loot errands for people. You could make a request and he would contact you within a day or 2 and then meet up with you to hand off the item. He was always cool about it and safe, and somehow the guy could always find what you needed. He got me some binoculars when those things were more rare than an empty experimental server right after a new update. There is another player, named NikoGT that frequents Reddit who just loots entire towns and places it all in a nice pile with lights around it for people to shop from. Its hilarious if you ever find one of his piles, you immediately think your gonna get sniped.. lol Edited July 5, 2014 by lrish
doctajones 123 Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) Did you actually see him dropping items? I have been up there on a server fresh after reset and there is an outstanding amount of loot up there. In one run I found 2 mosins 6 revolvers and a wide assortment of clothing, books, etc. Edited July 5, 2014 by doctajones

In one run I found 2 mosins 6 revolvers and a wide assortment of clothing, books, etc. I have too, several times.. its one of the best loot spawns in the game as far as single location goes. But every time that loot is all over the ground. This is over the past several days on experimental.. The OP above stated he did see the player actually setting items down.. but you would have to ask him about it. ;)
