Remove magical weapon slots

...what...what's ironic about that? Basically he's done what I'm suggesting should be in the game, rather than a rifle and a machete sticking to your t-shirt. After you said putting them on your backpack is impossible he explained it isn't, perhaps you were being sarcastic. Hope so.

 

 

The issue is that right now there is nothing holding your melee weapon and rifle to your back...

Instead we should have passive carrying, so for example woodsmen walk around with their axes balanced on their shoulders in one arm. A similar thing can be done with a rifle. This would make a lot more sense, and look cooler. Then, as an upgrade for people who want to have both arms free, using a rope with your backpack or finding a sling allows you to strap weapons to your back.

 

This would be great for walking, I'm pretty sure that walking while holding a weapon makes your energy and hydration drain much faster even if you're not holding it ready to shoot.

Rather than holding it horizontally that would be a good way to preserve stamina.

 

Not that I do much walking in this game but the option would be helpful if there were no magical slots.

I could totally holster my SKS in my pants and just walk with one straight leg. That'd work for me.

 

Realism in mind, yes. I would love to see this implemented. Bold choice if they do, however.

Both rifles and melee weapons should require slings to be slung on the back.

They shouldn't ALL though. I've never had a proper gun but I've had a couple of air rifles with slings, I usually take them off because they look stupid. Maybe some Chernausians just have them for home protection, they're not going to need a sling for long walks in that case and might have taken it off.

A sling on every weapon defeats the point of difficulty, that just makes it easy. Sometimes you're going to get something shit without a sling, just have to deal with it.

I have a fair few firearms and have a reasonable amount of military experience. Certainly the civilian weapons shouldn't come with a sling as standard none of mine did and I had to purchase each one, but, most military weapons yes they do have a standard sling that is attached to them. This bieng said I do like and agree with the idea as you know and I think a couple of divers slings for the military weapons wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Ssome ideas on waist/leg pistol pouches, knife pouches, clip bandoleers etc is cool. Its pretty easy to strap large items such as an axe to a back pack, google finds images too I would like to see more attachments like variants of the chest holster to look more cool.
