TheWizard14 372 Posted July 3, 2014 I just figured out this glitch yesterday with the Mosin Nagant when I had a compsensator and a bayonet. So I basically if you stick a compensator on the Mosin Nagant first, then you put the Bayonet, it allows to have both the attachments at the same time. It shows the attachment box under the gun. However, if you stick the Bayonet on first, THEN the compensator, the combo doesn't work and it won't allow both on the gun. Now what I'm wondering is if the two attachments actually stack onto each other in stats or something, or if one of the items just doesn't actually work. Even though the bayonet is useless as of now, this glitch could come in handy when you can stab people with it in the future.
Nainakai 42 Posted July 3, 2014 (edited) The bayonet would realisticly worsen your accuracy, as it extends the length as well as adding increased weight to the rifle. But currently there does not seem to be any negative or positive additions in regards to stats of a rifle when attaching a bayonet to it. It also has no use, as there does not seem to be a meele option when wielding a rifle in your hands. Edited July 3, 2014 by Nainakai
Zedertone 378 Posted July 3, 2014 I've known about this glitch forever haha.Btw, the bayonet isn't completely useless. You can open canned food with it I'm pretty sure.

I don't agree with the bayonet worsening accuracy.Added weight has benefits, it means adjustments are slower, smaller, therefore less jerky resulting in better accuracy. Overall length of the gun doesn't have an effect on accuracy, barrel length and condition does. Maybe if the bayonet was really heavy it would mess with the harmonics of the barrel (bending it down slightly, altering the way the gun recoiled and the barrel vibrated). A mosin is already somewhat heavy, adding the large flag-pole of a bayonet that we've got for it currently would by no means improve accuracy or stability the way I see it. :P Edited July 3, 2014 by Nainakai
qww 287 Posted July 3, 2014 currently the sks bayonet is not opening cans, i noticed the other day, and checked again today, with a different one i found. duno if the one for the mosin is still opening cans tho..
gianni001 37 Posted July 3, 2014 Bayonets were quite often attached when taking long range shots in both world wars, they add extra wait to the front of the rifle which means muzzle climb is easier to maintain and would mean follow up shots would be easier to find their targets. Bayonets would definatley make the weapon more cumbersome when firing from the hip / any unsupported position, but from a supported position a bayonet simply helps. boneboys 7988 Posted July 3, 2014 It might be a good idea if someone made a Report or checked to see if there is one already.Something is amiss (including SKS bayonet).
