Do LEGIT players who follow all the rules risk being banned if a hacker is teamed up? Or is it only the hacker who gets banned?

Recommended Posts

Last Saturday me and a friend met a guy who was using lots of hacks. Speed hacks, aimbot, and some other hack that makes it so you can't take your gun out.

He wasn't malicious at all to me and my friend (no idea if he abuses the hacks around others). He just asked if we wanted to see magic tricks, and started warping around playing hollar back girl by Gwen Stefani.

I became interested in filming him do that David Blaine speed/warp hack to random people, to record their reactions to his magic tricks.

Can normal legitimate players get banned if they are teamed up with a hacker, whether the hacker is malicious and gets reported to BattleEye while around or nice? I have no idea if you can get banned just from another player reporting who was around the hacker, can the whole group be banned even if only one hacks?

Or should I just stay away from being around that and report him and get him removed? I feel dirty wondering if the hacker guy should join our group or not, I'd imagine the reactions of others to his magic hacks would be hilarious (if nobody is harmed), but it doesn't feel right at all to me.

What shall I do?

Me personally mate i do not associate with hackers at all, If i find a mate of mine is hacking then i immedately Disown them and Block/Remove them from any VOIP Program i use. But no you won't get banned for the simple fact that you aren't the one running the scripts, If the scripts are not on your account then no, You will not get banned.

If he gives guns, ammo, gear, etc. to your group, then yes. It's very probable you'll be banned.

And it's not "magic tricks". it's cheating. Report him and stay away from him. Because, you are at risk of getting banned. And, getting banned by VAC affects your entire steam account, not just Dayz

No, you can not be banned if you're not scripting / executing anything yourself. Even when you're picking stuff up someone spawned in for you, you can't be banned by BattlEye for this.

It's impossible to get banned by Battleye or VAC by using items/vechicles spawned by hacker.

I can personally attest that members of |g4| (they have a Chicago and Los Angeles server, are dupers. It's not difficult to see or prove. If you see them together it's painfully obvious. (green mountain backpacks, full camo gear, ak with scope, fire axe etc. They have no qualms about it either and last night when I hung with them I watched them explain how to do it (as they did it) with someone new. I know how to do it also but I won't do it. I prefer to just play the game. Last night a member died. I took a few pieces of his equipment. Unfortunately he spawned very close to his corpse and when he returned he shot and killed me for taking a few pieces of his 'duped' equipment. That was the first and last time I will ever hang out with those guys. And one of them was overbearing and annoying as hell on their TS channel. By the way they reacted and responded to my disapproval, I am guessing it is a standard practice among their members.

Monday I encountered someone at the top of a police building and he was seemingly firing constantly in full auto. Until duping and the ammo hack? is stopped, this is how groups are retaining their gear and do not have to risk gearing up like the rest of us.

And this, in my opinion, is information an administrator for a game/studio specific forum shouldn't make public. It might push the sales, but it also can give some the wrong ideas.

Imagine if it was bizarro world and you could grief people into being banned by giving them hacked equipment when they're unconscious.

Hello there

This does not mean there *may* not be repercussions from using "hacked" kit.

It purely means a full ban will not be enforced.

It would be very hard to distinguish between intentional cheating and bad luck. A player could pick up a hacked magazine from a dead cheater (I never found one but I imagine it looked the same as a regular?) but he would potentionally only notice that after playing quite some time having the item on him but never using it. On the other hand it would be really bad if someone bought a second account to cheat items for his whole group. that was what I was refererring to in my first post. Since it has been implied multiple times by now I guess it won't harm writting it down in detail <_<

Hello there

I cant go into any detail obviously but innocent/accidental players have very little to worry about.

Why would you give a worthless hacker such attention? It is a kid who paid money to cheat in a game, and you would use that for your personal entertainment? It is not magic tricks, its pure lameness. If you applause that and provide him with the much needed attention you are basically nothing but an enabler for him.

It's fairly impossible to not notice if it has been hacked or not.. How they do it i don't know, but when you find one you will notice instantly, that it contains something like 192992392399329 rounds

I always imagined it would refill itself when it was down to 1 round or something.
