seany9966 0 Posted July 1, 2014 If this is in the wrong place, I am sorry. But before I buy it, I wanna know would these specs be good enough to run DayZ on Normal settings?http://gyazo.com/e14b11c933fe51fd6c98e8f5d0becbc9Move if its in the wrong board, i'm new :(
seany9966 0 Posted July 1, 2014 And I'm talking about both the standalone and the mod here.
Aamunkajo 110 Posted July 1, 2014 Should run the mod atleast, I think. You may have hard time in Standalone as I run on normal and it doesnt run as smooth as it could. I got i5 3450 3.1Ghz and 760 2GB OC + 8GB ram etc.

seany9966 0 Posted July 1, 2014 thanks alot man. I'll do some tweaking as well of course, I was just seeing could it be playable?
Accolyte 1727 Posted July 1, 2014 Your processor is a massive bottleneck on your system. You should probably get a less powerful gpu in order to spend more on your processor. Apart from that it looks solid. But the processor might prevent you from running the game in a playable state.

I have an i7 but not as good a gpu as you've listed and it's certainly playable. fyi I have an i7-2670qm and gtx570m Edited July 1, 2014 by freethink
Ninja_Meh 115 Posted July 1, 2014 looks like a laptop from the gtm part of the gfx card. only thing i would say is if u installed an ssd, it would be a bit better for you on that setup.
James Hawke 114 Posted July 1, 2014 What Accolyte said.I'm also using the GT 740M and I also have 8GB RAM, but I'm using an i7-4700MQ processor. With that I can play DayZ on fairly high settings with occasional lag.

seany9966 0 Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) Thank you everyone, I have changed the processor to a core i5 4200m 2.50 ghz dual core. And to the guy who posted the link, I couldn't find my specs on that list for my graphics card so I sort of gave up after a while and tried to do my research myself, and that's why I'm here, cus I failed haha. Ninja_Meh 115 Posted July 3, 2014 apart from the initial start up of the game does a ssd actually make a big difference?yeah man, ssd gaming drives really do help a lot, especially in games like this, i remember reading up about it when i was playing dayz mod a lot, and it makes for a lot better IO of the texture rendering and stuff, as the arma engines specifically do a lot of reads from the texture files when you play, a lot more than most games. for standalone it may be a little less relevant but they run on very similair engine base and tbh having an ssd really does make any computer a lot faster overall as well as increase performance in most games.
