Depends on the content of the patch and how stable it is.

This is the roadmap they have planned out for the year:

the game is actively developed by a dedicated and passionate team. Some people even voiced concerns that we see too much content patches and thus ressources are detracted from architecture development and bug fixing.

if you dont have exaggerated expectations, and remain fully aware that this is an early, rough build and not a complete game, you wont be disappointed.

Thanks for the help guys :)

As i have seen on the video they want to add many things on teh game but how far did they get? Are they developing in time or not?

Sometimes there is a delay in development, sometimes somethings get (terribly) worng and the staff has to delay a patch or new content. That ist normal, given the game is in Alpha. And normal for software developtment, too.

But I guess no one can say if the developers are on schedule or not. You have to trust them, report Bugs you find and be fully aware that the game is an early access ALPHA. So it will take some time before things are stable and everything´s working as planned. Rough said, you are nothing more than a tester of the current available game.

But IF the game is what you want right now...only you can tell. I purchased DayZ the first days it was buyable and didn´t regret it. Would I recommend it to other player who want a working game with a hardcore zombie survival simulation? No.

Hi there,

a while ago, I started a thread with all DayZ Changelogs being pushed out since the release of DayZ Standalone.

I probably didn't get them all since I didn't start the thread at the very beginning of DayZ Standalone and I just recently switched to the experimental branch, where updates are being released much more frequently.

But it can give you an impression about how frequent updates are and if a changelog was provided or a discussion has been opened, you can read what has been fixed and implemented.

Players tend to be very impatient about certain things getting fixed or implemented, because they don't understand how difficult seemingly easy fixes are to implement.

But anyway, I recommend you to read the Early Access Important Information thread and decide then if you want to buy the game in its current state or not.

Best regards,

Johnny

Thanks Odrakis :) Now i have a better perspective on this game.

 Don´t mention it ;)

If you are unsure about buying the game or not you can search the forums, see how other players (newbies and veterans alike) think about it. You can watch some let´s plays or other videos on youtube and then decide "yes, I want it" or "nooo, not yet".

Since the price of the game will increase when it is Beta or done I would just so "go ahead and buy it", but you could kick my butt for that recommendation :P

Just decide for yourself!

Early in it seemed like there was a patch every week, maybe two.. More recently it's been a "big" patch every month or so, with sometimes smaller patches (or hotfixes) inbetween. I've been playing since release and it seems like the patches are getting better and better as they're starting to address some of the major issues and add in more content. There's been only 1 patch that I thought was "horrible" and I didn't play it very much. The rest have all had their issues but not bothered me so much as that one in particular, and I think much of the community felt the same way. That's since been resolved and looking forward should be a lot more good content in the near future.

I have played the Mod when it came out and i have to say it was really awesome and what i have seen from Streams and YouTube the SA looks way better and also more interesting! :)

I will probably buy it but does someone know when the price will go up or how much it will go up? As a stundent i dont have the money now for that but since my birthday is almost there i probably will get some money which i could spend on buying this game. :P

Well, I don´t think you can compare it THAT much with the mod. The mod had a very clunky backpack/item system, that is much more easier in the SA. The Mod on the otherhand had lots of zombies, the SA doesn´t have them yet.

Regarding the price your guess is as good as mine. The Steam Summer Sale is over, you´ve missed an opportunity there. I remember the price there was 20 Euros. The price could go up once the SA becomes a Beta, whenever that will be. And it will increase of course once it is completed.

So buy it now or wait until the next Steam Sale (winter?). Or wait. We all can just take a guess :D
