irishroy 1347 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) I mean, the CZ 527 can be chambered in .223.so 5.56 and .223 are the same? good to know xD in the gamefiles there's also a compensator for it, which reduces the dispersion by -0.05 Edited June 30, 2014 by irishroy
Katana67 2907 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) so 5.56 and .223 are the same? good to know xD in the gamefiles there's also a compensator for it For the purposes of DayZ, as it stands now, absolutely. I don't really see any reason that the "realistic" divide between 5.56x45 and .223 Remington needs to be represented (which isn't really a divide, as there is a one-way-street crossover). EDIT - Here's a statement from CZ on that very subject... I'm sure you know this already, but our rifles are built to CIP spec, which doesn't differentiate between .223 and 5.56, it uses the higher pressure of the two and considers them one cartridge. So our rifles are built to shoot anything from match .223 to surplus 5.56. Although, I'm sure I could make the argument for it (akin to the .308/7.62x51 NATO divide that Torchia hinted at). But that's via an argument of benefiting gameplay, vice realism. Neat! I'd rather a suppressor, and an optic, but compensator might be interesting. Irish. 4886 Posted June 30, 2014 its not so much the flashbang, its the direction this game seems to keep getting pulled towards. Whats next barret 50 sniper rifle, full spec ops outfit, call in predator drone strikes on people at berezino? may as well get all the call of duty gear in, we already have the players Wut. :o Do you come from playing the mods of dayz or just the SA? Because it seems like you are being led to believe that DayZ is a survival game when it has and always will be a pvp oriented game. Please for the love of logic dont start arguing that fact. A survival game starts with things like fire and bats to kills zombies, not hueys and M4's and handcuffs. That is what a PVP game starts off with. So stop on that. Thanks. irishroy 1347 Posted June 30, 2014 yeah, but 5.56 for a bolt-action rifle...that's a 2-4-shot-kill with a RoF under 70 RPM, I bet...
frosti 2165 Posted June 30, 2014 I hope they up the damage of certain calibers. It is crazy, if we need to dump 1-2 9mm mags into someone to waste him. Pistols shouldnt be crazy weak, their main issue should be just low range.I hate back in the mod, when I had Bison, that thing needed like 30 hits to kill anybody, so I hope SMG's in SA arent that bad. Actually as the 9mm and .22 bullets are now they can be used as non-lethal methods of dealing with people. Great chance on breaking legs or putting people in uncoucious without killing them. Also works well as non-lethal repelling weapon for fist-bambies when you shoot them few times from .22 sporter.

Sure, sure, but I'm not sure how many people are thinking "non-lethal" when they pick up a firearm.
gibonez 3633 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) Sheesh, people losing their minds about flashbangs. They're harmless. Losing their minds how ? so 5.56 and .223 are the same? good to know xD in the gamefiles there's also a compensator for it, which reduces the dispersion by -0.05 Sigh I was hoping they would not persue that lame gameplay mechanic. Yet it persists accessories having magical properties. Edited June 30, 2014 by gibonez
frosti 2165 Posted June 30, 2014 Losing their minds how ? Well, does it make sense for having a flashbang with you during z-day? For what will you use it other then killing people?
gibonez 3633 Posted June 30, 2014 Well, does it make sense for having a flashbang with you during z-day? For what will you use it other then killing people? Are they losing their mind cause its a military item and they want less or in the case of some no military loot ? or is it cause of the current implementation of flashbangs ? Katana67 2907 Posted June 30, 2014 Losing their minds how ? Like spewing out bile about how the game is turning into COD, flashbangs only have a use in PvP (as if that's somehow a bad thing), and the usual indictment of the developers over a perceived "direction" of the game... as if this is somehow manifested by non-lethal grenades. On reddit ? Yea I figured that would happen those folks don't like military items in the game and raise a shitfit when military gear is announced or released. GrumpyFragger 67 Posted June 30, 2014 Even Arma doesn't have flashbangs wtf. Though I got to wonder what you do with a flashy in a zombie game when zombies probably don't even care about the flash. Well, the animation from the blinding sun was already ingame and coded so why not use it ^^

Irish. 4886 Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) RDS. :) Edited July 1, 2014 by lrish
Katana67 2907 Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) RDS. :) Neat, it's relieving to see some of the attachments be re-used. I half thought the M68, ACOG, and... whatever the hell the other RDS is... were going to be M4-only. Wasn't sure how they'd end up approaching some of the rail-compatible attachments. Still curious as to the foregrip and railed handguard for the MP5K. Really, really, hope they made the foregrip work for the AKM and M4A1. hombrecz 832 Posted July 1, 2014 Where is the MP5K spawning? Found mine in police station, luckily enough 15rnd mag was in next room :-).I guess the 30rnd mags will be more rare, not sure if spawning only in tents. Anyway it is nice to see that police loot is slowly being build.I already consider CZ75 as fitting into police loot, now we have MP5, I guess tha RAK smg will also fit there and pump action shotgun should be also on its way and might fit police loot as well. Now plase move Sporter exlusively into civilian loot table and also it's mags as well! I can't wait for the time, when loot tables will be properly "fat" and more distinctive between each other (so no Sporters in jail buildings, no sporter mags in tents etc).
