I never played a Steam game before this one

Recommended Posts

and I dont like fps games, I played a few many years ago. what I dont like about fps games that when you respawn you start with a gun and you dont need food or water. You gain abilities that you dont lose when you die. I dont like that, thats why I love this game. What I dont understand is why I have met over 30 people only while playing this game and now none of them ever play this game anymore. What were they expecting to have in this game? Most of them say there is not enough to do. I seem to find plenty to do and more is being added all the time. If they wanted a big battle game theres plenty of games out there already. I dont realy know what I am asking, are these people just impulsive buyers, getting the newest thing? Or do they not know what a survival game is?

A lot of people are just waiting for more content to be added, which is fair enough really. I don't play much at the minute. Once vehicles and base building are added and general survival is made more difficult I'll play a lot more.

I think the content is just fine already we already have an insane amount of weapons and accessories not to mention clothing items

Art team has been pumping out guns at a great rate not only in quantity but also in quality and uniqueness.

What I am waiting for now is gameplay additions and refinements to already established ones.

He wrote it, it is written in the quote.

"Once base building and vehicles [...]".

Almost every former mod player is waiting for peristence/storage.

That creates a different experience.

Not only vehicles and base building though. In the mod, if you didn't get lucky and take out a fully kitted bandit, it took weeks to gather all of the top end gear in the game, in DayZ retail it only takes a few hours. Once there are more weapons and items the game will have more of a natural progression to it.

Also, once weather actually has adverse effects and disease is implemented I think the game will be much more interesting.

Tbh, the only gear that took more than a day to find in the mod was Night Vision, Range Finders, and Satchel Charges.. Tents and some high end weapons could be a challenge if you didn't have access to a vehicle of some kind or if you were unlucky or simply didn't know where any heli crashes were.

Read the thread that has the interview with Dean about the upcoming changes. Once you see what he is hoping for, you realize almost everything in the game currently is just a placeholder. If it goes to plan, the entire method for playing will be different.

Also, there is no content at the moment, at least from where I sit. The hunting is boring. Zombies are boring. Running is boring. Beanz are boring. Fire is boring. It's a whole lot of boring stuff. Except for PVP that is, which is the reason most people are playing currently.

NVG, rangefinders, camo/ghillies and GPS could all be a pain in the arse to find. I'm not sure which servers you played on, but a heli crash that hadn't already been looted was a pretty rare find on the ones that I used to frequent.

Insane amount of weapons? Hmmm. 5 rifles, 5 handguns. Yeah, insane amount.

GPS could be found at places like Green Mountain and other medium value military spawns. Heli crashes were easy if you had a vehicle/heli, not so easy if you didn't.. camo/ghillies were pretty common at heli crashes. NVG's and Rangefingers were the 2 hardest "tools" to find. Satchel charges and NVG's probably the rarest things in the game, except NVG's you could find inside of the black-littlebird that spawned at black mountain. So technically Range Finders were the rarest outside of satchels... but they weren't nearly as necessary as NVG's. I played on high pop US vanilla servers.

I'm waiting for;

Vehicles

A better food system (more diseases, more need for food when working out much, like running, you'll need to drink a lot more when running through the woods)

Some things need to be fixed (suppressors.................)

More content :D

But I love this game already

Yeah, right now it's still PvP more than anything, which is sad. It's nice to have all the military loot / weapons around, but I hope they don't make too much more, or only after sicknesses etc. and bases are implemented.

I think right now, everyone just gets the "end gear" and goes shooting and being shot. I can't wait to see a PvP'ers priorities when he gets sick and has no Antibiotics.

Recently, I have taken to hunting like a fishy to water. It's hilarious running after some animal with an axe, looking like a fool for everyone ^^

Also, I have not had a gun for over two weeks now. Turns out if you're lone wolfing it and stay away from everybunny, it's totally unnecessary. Especially considering that guns alarm even more Zombies ;-)

Question is, why would we even need Raks... or even Grenades? I mean they're nice and all, but when I'm surviving, I'm in a vast landscape of Zombies, not in Arma 2 or CoD.

I understand that some things will be necessary, maybe in order to break down barricades of sorts, but this is just a bit much when I look at that list. What do they expect? War zones in between Clans or something?

If someone could explain this a little that'd be appreciated.

Yes i did because of zombies. Is there a problem with that? It was posted as a zombie sim and not just a survival one. Or just a FPS death match game for that matter.

Tears were not included though because it is a game just like any other.

Yeah, they could be but it was a 0.1% chance IIRC.

I dont think people are crying as much as i expected. 2 million sales and very few of those are complaining. If 10 000 people are complaining out of 2 million... just sayin...

I have huge expectations of this game at this point. The more i play ,the more hyped i get.

.1% PER spawn.. so if there were like 20 spawns at Stary Sobor (As an example) it was more like 2% chance of finding one any given time you went there.

No, I don't think you understand. People jumped on the bandwagon because it was a zombie game, not zombie survival, nor survival sim, or PvP death match, or whatever. They bought it because it has zombies, because it was a zombie game with no other information than that for most people, they bought it, because that's how zombie games work in this day and age, put zombies in a game it'll sell.
