U.N Peacekeepers journey to...THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND

I was on a YOLO life to check out this island by swimming there but it turns out my guy has survived for hours even in the cold sea, who would have guessed.

 

 

 

Note: You can stand on that rock

 

First impressions, water is wet, sunken shit...ship holds no treasure, sad face.

 

Neat house for a base perhaps.

 

The lonely tree on a hill with graves in front of it...what's that I'm holding?

 

 

I NEEDED THE WOOD DON'T JUDGE ME I AM A SURVIVOR

 

 

Explored a small port village place, crazy zombie fools attacked me, this island...is not dead.

 

An entirely pointless climb up a lighthouse this uncivilized place didn't even have a gun up there, madness.

 

 

At first glance, this abandoned boathouse had nothing.

On second glance however it still had nothing.

 

More zombies, didn't want to use up any more bandages so I just ran. So far away. I just ran.

 

Good bye mostly empty island.

Water is wet.

 

 

So the island was fairly empty, not an animal in sight all there really was was a pair of pants and a hat and some sardines in a house I think.

But the island itself is cool, I hope they add a few more buildings an axe and pickaxe spawn and a rope spawn plus some animals, it would be an awesome place to have a base. Just have a survivor island type thing, I doubt anyone would ever show up everyone can have their war while you fish peacefully off the shore.

MHHH....maybe this Island whould see alot more visitors if there whould be the occasional helicrash site ? :D

I was there several times. ^_^  Jumped from lighthouse. :lol:

PS I remember that on some servers of Dayz mod helicopter spawned on that island.

I found some berry bushes but couldn't take berries from them, it's kind of like that island hasn't been updated. Hopefully they do update it to have what I mentioned and when they add boats in it could be such a cool place for a clan.

The difficult part about this island is what swimming does to your clothing and equipment. I'm always afraid of losing or ruining my stuff when I swim across. The last time I explored over there, I had two of my buddies watch my equipment on the Cap while I swam across the bay with nothing but an ax and my boots  :P

boat house roof used to be a good enough spot to leave the chopper on (private hive) as you can't get up on it from the ground, only another chopper could get a person onto the roof - good times!!

Yeah that's the main problem my journey inspired me to make http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/201207-waterproof-coversbags-for-your-gear/

 

If they added that it would be great, your own slice of paradise kind of.

 

 

With any luck they do add some exploration value to the landscape, besides loot drops(though those too)

I liked the grave site with the tree on the hill that was a nice touch the rest of the places in the game currently feel like they've just copied and pasted buildings in a different set up to other villages but the grave thing felt more like someone designed it, if that makes sense.

 

Giving Chernaus some personality would make the game so much better.
